Ruden is a French and European home-cooking restaurant half a floor below street level, down an alley off Yeonmujang-gil near exit 4 of Seongsu Station. People order dishes like lasagna (23,000 won), duck parmentier (24,000), paella (24,000) and meatball pasta (23,000) and share them; 13 of the 25 visits we read included the lasagna. We read 30 posts dated 20 November 2025 to 2 October 2026; 25 record an actual meal. Three were set aside as links from other venues' posts or a different place with the same name.

What sets it apart
- It is close to the subway. Five posts say in their own words that they walked from Seongsu Station or that it is near; many more copy the '3 minutes from exit 4' line. It sits in an alley, so you have to look for it. No one mentions a bus.
- Six posts went with family (a mother, a cousin, a younger sister, a ten-person family gathering), four with friends, three with a partner. Most titles say 'date spot', but family is the company people actually wrote about most.
- It is small. Three posts say so — 'six or seven tables', 'about 24 seats'. A long wooden table in the middle sat a party of ten, and one writer moved seats in winter because the big table by the door was cold.
- Pastas, gnocchi and lasagna are 23,000 won; duck parmentier and paella 24,000; beef bourguignon 36,000; osso buco 43,000; striploin 45,000. One post put dinner for two at around 50,000 won. You go half a floor down. Nine visit posts describe it as semi-basement — 'half a flight down past the Eiffel Tower model', 'you go down into a half-basement, so it's easy to miss'. One writer circled the block before finding it; another said the separate entrance and high ceiling make it feel almost like ground level.
No one wrote about going in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post said the way down is narrow and the steps are high, making entry hard; no post mentions a lift or ramp.
One post says the toilet is inside, through an arched doorway. Another called it small but clean, and two noted mouthwash and floss set out. Nobody said whether it is separated by gender.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 25 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No one wrote about queuing — that means nobody mentioned it, not that there is never a wait. Four posts booked ahead, including a ten-person family dinner; one advises booking because there are only about 24 seats, and one said food took about 15 minutes to arrive.
- Posts disagree on heat: five call dishes spicy or peppery, two say they are not. The paella is 'nicely sharp' to one writer and 'barely spicy' to another; the vongole is 'not spicy at all' to one and 'slightly spicy' to another.
- Portions split two to two: one post found them generous and a salad enough for three; another said the paella was so small the rice barely covered the pan, and another that portions overall are not large.
- Three posts call the staff friendly. One noted no Korean-speaking staff were on hand, so a request to split the bill was not understood and they settled up later themselves.
- Fifteen posts give hours, all copied from the same notice: daily 11:00–22:00 with a weekday break 15:00–17:00. Five add that there is no weekend break; three list only 11:00–22:00 daily. No post gives a closing day or last order.
- The phone number 0507-1396-9636 appears in many posts; we have not called it. One post booked through CatchTable, and others copy a note that Naver booking is available.
- Thirteen posts from late August to September 2026 repeat the same introduction in the same order — the owner-chef trained at William Angliss in Melbourne, seven and a half years in Australia, opened in 2014, TV appearances, a multinational kitchen that works in English, everything made in-house. Three of them disclose sponsorship. We treat the chef's biography and the made-in-house line as the restaurant's own claims, not as evidence.
- One post says the restaurant has been in Seongsu for two and a half years; read alongside the 2014 opening, that suggests it moved here from elsewhere. No post names a previous location, and every post we read is about the current address.
