Ppangyang Ppangyang is an evening-only charcoal lamb grill tucked in a back alley of Ttukdo Market in Seongsu. Rib meat (150 g, 15,000 won), French rack (150 g, 21,000 won) and shoulder rack (23,000 won) are grilled at your table by the owner, with frozen pork belly, pollock cold noodles and 3,000-won garlic-scape fried rice on the side. An acorn-jelly salad comes first and a kimchi bean-sprout soup comes last, both free. We read 16 posts from December 2024 to September 2026, all of them first-hand visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The owner grills the meat for you — 13 posts say so, some noting it was cooked to the requested doneness and taken off the bone. One June 2025 post was told this happens when the owner isn't too busy, and two posts say the owner runs the place alone.
- Thirteen posts mention an unordered first plate. From May 2025 on, 12 posts got acorn-jelly salad (one as a chilled acorn-jelly soup); the December 2024 post, from the opening month, got tomato soup. An October 2025 post noted the starter had changed and that it had once been parboiled squid.
- There is outdoor seating in the alley — 8 posts mention it. Inside, most posts count about four tables (one counted five, one also mentions a bar counter), and 3 say the room is not large; two say the tables are well spaced.
- Seven posts say the lamb had no gamey smell, and none say it did. Five mention it being juicy.
3 more
- One post, from December 2024, actually brought its own wine: the first bottle per table was free and further bottles cost 10,000 won. Other posts repeat the one-free-bottle policy from the shop's own listing. Seven posts note that wine is sold.
- Three posts came by bus, naming the Seoul Forest police-box, Ttukdo Market and Ttukdo Market Old Road stops, with about a three-minute walk from the stop. It is hard to find: one post says you turn into the alley between a car-repair shop and a butcher's restaurant, and the sign sits high and is easy to miss.
- Five posts call it good value, citing the 3,000-won fried rice and 9,900 won for 200 g of pork belly. None call it expensive.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
3 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
No post describes which floor it is on; only the address says ground floor.
We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — not because there isn't, but because no one wrote about it.
We don't know whether the toilet is inside or separated by gender. One post only mentions seeing snow on the way to the restroom.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Two things changed: last order was 21:30 in the December 2024 post and 21:00 in 11 posts from May 2025 on, and the free starter went from tomato soup to acorn-jelly salad. Nobody mentions a move.
- All 14 posts that give opening hours say 17:00 to 22:00. Eleven say daily; one June 2025 post alone says Monday to Saturday, closed Sunday. Most of these are copied from the place listing, and one post says emergency closures are announced on Instagram.
- No post reports waiting. One says it filled up after 7 pm on a weekday, another that the room was full by about 8 with people eating outside, and one December 2025 weekday post had the place to itself. One post, a team dinner, booked ahead.
- Two posts mention a regulars' sticker card. What it earns is hearsay and differs: one heard whisky, another a bottle of Moët rosé for 30 stickers.
- Only one post says pets are allowed, copied from the shop's notice; no one actually brought one.
- Five posts give the phone number 0507-1356-6084. Bookings for two or more and private hire for ten or more (100,000-won deposit) come from a copied notice in one post. Most prices are from June–July 2025 posts; none give 2026 prices.
- Two posts disclose sponsorship, and four more from June–July 2025 share the same repeated keywords and running order of a promotional write-up. We counted them, but read their praise with that in mind.
