BakeryCafe
Onggeundal
옹근달 Onggeun-dal is Korean for a whole, full moon; the bakery names pastries after the moon, such as Nunsseopdal (eyebrow, i.e. crescent, moon).

A bakery cafe that fills a whole building on an alley off Seongsu-iro 7-gil. You pick pastries and cakes from the ground-floor display, order, and carry them up to the second floor, third floor or roof. Posts give 6,000 won for an americano, 7,500 won for the namesake pastry Onggeundal, and 12,000 to 15,000 won for a slice of cake. We read 30 posts dated January 28 to October 5, 2026; 17 describe actually eating at this Seongsu branch (the earliest visit was December 20, 2025). We set aside 3 posts about the Yongsan branch of the same name and 5 about other places.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Some weekend visitors did not queue. Of the three posts that brought up waiting, two said they did not wait: one on a weekday, and one on a weekend that said they sat down right away. A weekend post from April 2026 said there were plenty of seats when they arrived but many people waiting by the time they left. Separately, a December 2025 evening visitor found no seats inside and sat outdoors.
- A slice of cake costs about as much as two drinks. Three posts called it on the pricey side and three said the slices are large; one put both together, saying the price was high for a slice but so was the size. One post complained that a drink over 7,000 won came in a cup smaller than a household mug.
- Nine posts called what they ate sweet; one said they could not have finished it without an iced americano. Two posts found their choice not too sweet: the matcha brownie and the peach croissant.
- No post called it clean, and three raised concerns: the trays for pastries looked unhygienic, the restroom was not clean, and the place could be kept tidier. A July 2026 post said it was much neater than on their first visit, but still found the restroom a bit dirty.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 9 of 17 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 8 (of 17 posts read) |
| Toilet inside | 1 of 17 posts |
The seating is upstairs. Nine posts sat on or described the second floor. The ground floor is mostly the counter and pastry display, and one post said it has only a few seats. Five posts mention the rooftop, five an outdoor terrace, and three the floor-cushion seats by the windows, which one writer said are always taken.
No one wrote about a step at the entrance, wheelchair or stroller access, or an elevator. That means we do not know, not that there is none. Most seats are upstairs, and one post says they took the stairs to the second floor.
Only one post said the restroom is inside the cafe, and called it not clean. No one said which floor it is on or whether it is split by gender.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 22 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Only one post described the walk: 10 to 15 minutes from exit 4 of Seongsu Station. The 376 m figure seen elsewhere is copied from a listing.
- Opening hours are copied from listings, not observed. Of the 10 visit posts that give hours, nine say 11:00 to 23:00 daily (six add a 22:30 last order) and one October 2026 post says 11:00 to 22:00.
- One price seems to have gone up: a July 2026 post paid 12,000 won for the pistachio-raspberry cake, an October post 14,000 won. The americano (6,000 won), the Onggeundal pastry (7,500 won) and the honey butter croissant (4,000 won) stayed the same from March to October.
- Several posts copied the phone number 02-499-5012. No one said whether you can book ahead.
- We did not count TV appearances, the claim that the bakery uses Lescure butter, or one writer's hearsay that there is a rooftop, because these were heard or copied. We also did not count three Seongsu cafe roundup posts, or a monthly recap and a general introduction by one blogger, as visits.
