OVICECREAM

Ovi Ice Cream makes its own ice cream and gelato and serves it in cups or house-baked waffle cones, from unit 104 on the ground floor of an office building (Seoul Forest Korea IT Center) on Seongsuil-ro 12-gil, near Seongsu Station Exit 1. It started out in Jeju and officially reopened in Seongsu on 16 May 2026. One flavour costs 4,900 won, two flavours 6,500 won, and a waffle cone adds 1,000 won; the prices were the same in May and September. There are eight flavours, and six posts mention tasting before buying. Four posts note the candy eyeballs stuck on each scoop, and two say the makgeolli flavour contains alcohol, so staff check ID. We read 11 posts dated December 2024 to September 2026; 9 describe an actual visit, 8 at the Seongsu shop and 1 at the old Jeju shop.

Rows without a count: 2 of 5 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The shop moved up from Jeju. The opening-day post was written by someone who had eaten at the Jeju shop; it gives the official opening as Saturday 16 May 2026 and says the familiar interior came over unchanged. One more post describes eating at the Jeju shop and only learned of the move afterwards. Another heard about the move, and one saw it on a pre-opening banner.
  2. Four posts say the owner was friendly. Six mention being given a taste on a sample cone before ordering, and in some the owner offered first, suggesting the lemon or topping a scoop with a bit of makgeolli. One post says staff ask before adding the candy eyes.
  3. Two posts say there is seating: the opening-day post found enough tables and room to sit and eat, and a July post called the shop not very big but cosy and tidy. Two posts describe it as clean. Posts mention people eating outside, but none says whether there is a proper terrace.
  4. Three posts say it is an easy walk from Seongsu Station: about three minutes according to the opening-day post, about five from Exit 1 according to copied directions. Several office workers spotted the yellow sign on the way to work or on a lunchtime walk.

  1. A recurring point is that the flavours don't lean on sugar. One post says it is neither too sweet nor too heavy, another found the chocolate bitter with no sweetness at all, and three found the lemon sorbet very sour.

Map showing where OVICECREAM is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

3 posts say it is walkable from the station.

Getting inside

The address says ground floor, unit 104, but no post describes the floor from actually going in.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. That means nobody wrote about it, not that access is impossible.

Nobody says whether the toilet is inside the shop. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in a copied info block in the opening-day post, so we didn't count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 11 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One post says they won't buy again: someone working nearby found the signature flavour wasn't the milk ice cream they like, was frustrated not knowing what was in it, and said they wouldn't spend their own money there again.
  • No post describes queuing. The opening-day post found the shop full after 5 p.m., and one evening visitor arrived near closing to find most flavours sold out. Nobody wrote about waiting, which isn't the same as saying there is no wait.
  • Who people went with doesn't settle into a pattern: two went with a partner or spouse, one with a friend, one with colleagues, and the rest didn't say.
  • All the opening hours are copied notices, and they change over time: the opening-day post (May 2026) gives Tue-Sat 12:00-21:00 (last order 20:30) and Sunday 12:00-19:00; July posts give Tue-Sat 12:00-20:00 and Sunday 11:00-19:00; two September posts give 12:00-20:00, closed Mondays and the last Sunday of the month. All five agree it is closed on Mondays. Check before going.
  • Only one post judged the price, and without a verdict: not cheap, but not very expensive for handmade gelato. Single 4,900 won and double 6,500 won are the same in May and September posts. Nobody recorded the Jeju prices, so we don't know whether prices changed with the move.
  • The phone number differs between posts: the opening-day info block lists 0507-1354-5525 and a listicle lists 070-4814-5522, both copied rather than confirmed. The info block says reservations are possible, but no one describes making one.
  • Two July posts carry word-for-word identical info blocks (hours and parking), apparently copied from the same source, though their accounts of eating differ. A December 2024 post is a round-up of reviewer-recruitment ads and a September 2026 post is a ranked list of Seongsu dessert shops; we counted neither as a visit.
