Noeul 2-gwan

노을 2관 Noeul means the red glow of sunset — the sign shows a sun going down over the sea — and 2-gwan means 'second hall'; one post notes there is also a first branch.

A Jeju-pork grill house in a side street off Achasan-ro 7-gil, about a five-minute walk from Seongsu Station exit 1. It sells Jeju pork neck, cheongyeop, skin-on belly, gabeuri, skirt and pork tail by the portion; 2025 posts put neck at 17,900 won, cheongyeop at 18,900 and tail at 14,900. Staff grill everything at the table, including shishito peppers, mushrooms and finally kimchi, and many diners finish with doenjang rice, cold noodles or stew. We read 30 posts dated January 2025 to October 2026; 19 were about this place (January 2025 to June 2026) and 18 describe a visit. The other 11 used the word noeul for a sunset or for a different Seongsu business, and we set them aside.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. 13 of the 18 visit posts say the staff grilled the meat for them. Those that describe the routine: the grill is greased with a piece of fat, peppers and mushrooms go on first, thick neck is seared, cut, then cooked through, and finished pieces are moved to a rack at the side. Seven say the staff also grilled white or rinsed kimchi at the end. Of the five that don't mention it, one writer arrived late to find the meat already cooked.
  2. Four posts say the meat comes thick — one was startled by the neck. Five call it juicy, five say it wasn't greasy, and two say it had no porky smell. One expected small portions but found two portions plenty for two because of the thickness.
  3. Posts keep saying it looks small from the street but runs deep inside; five call it spacious. One explains the room is L-shaped, with more tables than you see from the door and group tables round the bend; another says most tables seat four, with some for two. One writer found it not big, but not cramped either.
  4. Eight posts describe walking from Seongsu Station exit 1: five minutes in two, three to five in one, and 90 m straight then 170 m along the shoemakers' street in another. One says to pass Olive Young and turn down the alley between a pharmacy and a gimbap shop; another found it a bit off the main Seongsu strip.

  1. Four posts were work dinners, one of them a year-end party. One writer says their team ends up here often and gets the same table when they book; another saw a company dinner already under way at the back. Three went with friends. Two booked ahead — one phoned for lunch and found the table already set.
  2. Two posts mention a TV — one a very large screen, good for football or baseball. One notes storage under the chairs for coats and bags to keep the smoke off, and the same post saw celebrity autographs by the door.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Eight posts describe walking from Seongsu Station exit 1: five minutes in two, three to five in one, and 90 m straight then 170 m along the shoemakers' street in another. One says to pass Olive Young and turn down the alley between a pharmacy and a gimbap shop; another found it a bit off the main Seongsu strip.

Getting inside

The address says ground floor, but no post describes stairs or the floor from experience. We don't know.

No one mentions a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means unknown, not absent.

No post says whether the toilet is inside or separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 18 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours changed. Every post gives weekdays as 11:30 to 23:00. For weekends, three January 2025 posts say 10:00 opening, while five posts from April to December 2025 say noon. One post from 6 April 2025 still gives 10:00 and a Wednesday closing day, but another post that same day says noon and no other post mentions Wednesdays, so we treat it as stale. No 2026 post gives hours, so we can't confirm the current ones.
  • No post reports waiting. Two walked straight in, though one of those had booked lunch by phone. One found it packed on a weekday evening; another found it half full at 7 pm on a Thursday. Nobody wrote from experience about weekend evenings.
  • Prices come only from 2025 posts; the two 2026 posts give none, so current prices are unknown. No one called it expensive. Adding up one post's order — a portion each of neck and cheongyeop, a stew and a bowl of rice for two — comes to 42,800 won. Extra peppers, mushrooms or pickles are 2,000 won each, and one post says extra myeongi greens also cost more.
  • Two January 2025 posts give the phone as 02-499-3503 and four April 2025 posts as 0507-1448-3503. The last four digits match, so we take both to be the shop's, but we don't know which one takes bookings now.
  • Four posts call the staff friendly. One from March 2026 says they had to repeat themselves because the server didn't catch what they said.
  • Posts disagree on what cheongyeop is. Those quoting the menu, and one that calls it jowl, describe the neck-to-shoulder cut; one calls it five-layer belly and another skin-on belly. By the menu, the skin-on belly is kkeopsam.
  • One January 2025 post discloses sponsorship; one from 10 April 2025 reads like ad copy but discloses nothing. The 22 April 2025 post only copies the Naver listing's menu, hours and review counts, so we didn't count it as a visit. Claims such as 100% Jeju pork, same-day butchery and charcoal pre-searing are the shop's own words, copied by bloggers, and we don't rely on them.
