Monmon Monjayakki
몬몬 몬자야끼 Monjayaki is a Tokyo dish of runny batter and chopped cabbage cooked on a tabletop griddle and scraped up as the bottom crisps; the posts give no meaning for 'Monmon'.

A Tokyo-style monjayaki restaurant on the second floor of a building on Yeonmujang 3-gil in Seongsu. Every table has a griddle; staff chop the cabbage, pour the batter and flip the crust once it sticks. The usual order is the two-person set (one monjayaki, one yakisoba or okonomiyaki, corn cheese), which four posts priced at 38,000 won. Eleven posts mention the pollock-roe-and-rice-cake monjayaki and ten ate it. Most visit posts note a free ice-cream bar per person on the way out. We read 30 posts dated 4 September to 5 October 2026; 22 describe an actual visit, 7 were about other places and set aside, and 1 is a single line in a TV-restaurant list. One post says the place opened in June 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- You don't cook the monjayaki yourself: 16 of the 22 visit posts say staff come to the table and make it, chopping the cabbage with real force. Several say a staff member returns when the three-minute timer goes off to flip the crust; one post says nobody came and they had to call someone. Another was told to sit back because oil spatters.
- Ordering is by the QR code on the table; 10 posts say so.
- Waits depend on when you go. Three posts waited and eight walked straight in. The waits: two groups ahead around 6 p.m. on a Saturday, under ten minutes after joining the list at 7 p.m. on a weekday, and a queue forming soon after an early lunch on Chuseok. Straight-in visits included Monday just before noon, Saturday lunch, Sunday at 5:30 p.m., 2 p.m., and weekday opening time. Posts mention a CatchTable kiosk at the entrance.
- Six posts call the room spacious. One lists window seats, two-person bar tables, four-tops and large tables, and says it felt like a big Korean barbecue hall.
6 more
- Six posts mention window seats. One describes solo seats facing the street; another found them all taken on a Sunday evening and sat at the bar table instead.
- Four posts got refills of the free salted-kelp cabbage salad; one said the refill was so big they left some.
- Saltiness divides opinion: three posts found it salty — one drank a lot of water — and one found it less salty than in Japan. Three posts ordered it 'less salty'; one still found it salty, another thought that choice made it bland.
- Five posts put it a 5–7 minute walk from Seongsu Station, three of them naming Exit 4.
- Five posts came with friends, four as couples and one as a family with children. Four men shared the three-person set plus one extra dish; another group of four was very full on the four-person set.
- Six posts had draft beer with the meal. Asahi draft is 7,900 won on one post's copy of the menu, and three posts got a free glass of beer or a soft drink for writing a Naver review.

Only one post speaks to parking from experience: there is no lot, so use a nearby public car park. Six others copied 'no parking' or 'use public parking' into an info block, which we don't count. No post says they arrived by car.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 8 of 21 posts |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 4 of 21 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 21 posts |
The restaurant is upstairs: 8 posts describe going up to the second floor, in a red-brick building opposite the Matin Kim store.
No post says whether you reach the second floor by stairs or lift, or whether there is a step at the door. We don't know about wheelchair or stroller access — not because it's missing, but because nobody wrote about it.
Four posts say the toilet is inside the restaurant. One adds it is to the left of the entrance and separated by gender; another called it unusually clean for Seongsu.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 22 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Ten posts give the same opening hours, 11:30 to 22:00, and seven give a 21:00 last order — mostly copied info blocks. Nearly all say open daily, but one post (29 September 2026) says closed Wednesdays, so check before going.
- Prices come almost entirely from one post's copy of the menu (3 October 2026): monjayaki 21,000–22,000 won, yakisoba 14,000, okonomiyaki 16,000, sets at 38,000 for two, 58,000 for three and 85,000 for four. Four posts from 10 September to 3 October agree on the 38,000-won two-person set. No post judged the meal expensive or cheap.
- Five posts give the same phone number, 0507-1358-6355. On booking they differ: one info block says phone reservations, others mention CatchTable remote queuing, and one post couldn't join it because it only opens once two or more groups are waiting. We don't know whether you can reserve ahead.
- Two posts read as promotional. One (5 October 2026) has a receipt but describes counter seats and 'professional chefs' that no other post mentions, so we counted only its notes on space and table-side cooking. The other (1 October 2026) is marked as sponsored.
