MAGPIE & TIGER
맥파이앤타이거 성수티룸 Maekpai-aen-taigeo Seongsu Tirum Magpie & Tiger is the brand name — the magpie and the tiger (kkachi and horangi) are the classic pair of Korean folk painting, which is why the house sells a 'Hojakdo' tiger-striped tigré cake.

Magpie & Tiger's Seongsu tea room is on the 5th floor of the Musinsa Empty building, right outside exit 3 of Seongsu Station. Korean teas come in a glass pot with a pitcher and a tasting card; signature teas are 8,000 won and the mugwort tiramisu 7,000 won, so tea plus a dessert runs about 15,000 won. When you finish the first pot they brew the same leaves once more, and four posts say they could choose hot or iced for the second round. We read 30 posts dated 26 Aug to 3 Oct 2026; 4 were about the Bukchon store, the online shop or another business and were set aside, 3 never visited, leaving 23 first-hand visits (made between April and September).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The window is the draw: nine posts describe looking down on the Seongsu street through floor-to-ceiling glass — you can watch the crosswalk signals while the crowd noise stays below. Two say the bar seats have the view too.
- Eight posts call it quiet. Four mention many solo guests reading or working on laptops, and one notes the laid-brick floor keeps footsteps from echoing.
- A long brewing bar runs through the middle, with two- and four-person tables along the window and further in. Nine posts describe the seating; six mention both bar and tables, and three say the bar puts you right in front of the brewing.
- Four posts single out the staff. Two say staff came over to offer the second brew before being asked; another was shown how to smell the leaves before drinking.
2 more
- There is no coffee — three posts say so outright; instead there are tea lattes, iced teas and tea cocktails.
- Waits vary. An October post queued behind three groups, standing, for under 20 minutes; a September post walked straight in around 3pm on a weekend, but the room filled within 30 minutes and a line had formed by the time they left. One went early and found it calm; another saw a waitlist sign-up at the door.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Lift to the floor | 2 of 19 posts |
|---|---|
| Step-free access | 1 of 19 posts |
It is on the 5th floor; two posts describe taking the lift and stepping out straight into the tea room. One got lost in the Musinsa building and wandered up and down stairs; no one else said anything about floors or stairs.
One post says a stroller can come in and plans to return with a baby. Nobody mentioned a door step or entering by wheelchair — that means no one wrote about it, not that it is fine or not.
The only word on toilets is one post's info block saying 'inside, clean'; nobody described using it, and we don't know whether it is gender-separated.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 22 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions split on the mugwort tiramisu: two posts found it pleasantly not-too-sweet, one found it sweet with barely any mugwort taste.
- Several posts copy the 'one to two minutes from Seongsu exit 3' line; one says from experience it was easy by public transport. No one mentioned buses.
- Eight posts give the same hours, daily 11:00–21:30, but all copied from an info block; none mention closing days or last orders.
- Prices come from photographed menus — signature teas 8,000 won, lattes and iced teas 6,800, desserts 3,900–7,800. No post gave a receipt total.
- Four posts list the phone as 0507-1306-1629 (one listing post gives a different number). No post says whether reservations are taken; one calls it walk-in.
