Cafe

Courtside

코트사이드 Koteusaideu Courtside is the English word for the area right beside a sports court; one post noted tennis-ball decorations inside, in keeping with the name.

Compiled from 16 blog posts read in fullSources →

Courtside is a third-floor cafe at Achasan-ro 13-gil 2, near Seongsu Station. It serves toast topped with whatever fruit is in season (10,500-11,000 won) and two house tea blends, Corl and Yetea (7,500 won). We read 30 posts dated April 13 to October 5, 2026; 18 of them record an actual visit. Ten posts from October 2-5, 2026 repeat the same phrases and hashtags and record no meal, so we did not count them. We dropped one post whose address was a different shop near Konkuk University. The toast changes with the season: strawberry, mixed berry and Korean melon in April-May posts, peach and plum in July-August, Earl Grey fig from August on.

Rows without a count: 7 of 7 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There can be a line. Four posts saw people waiting. One visitor who arrived for the noon opening on a weekend said a line formed from 1 p.m. Another went on a rainy day and saw a steady line. A third had given up on earlier tries because of the crowds. A mid-August weekend visitor saw quite a few people waiting but got in straight away. One post says there is a waiting area inside. No one says how many minutes they waited.
  2. The windows are large. Eight posts mention window seats or sunlight through the glass. A mid-August visitor moved to a shaded table because the window seat was too hot in direct sun. Another sat by the window and said the glass was very dirty.
  3. The room echoes. Four posts say it is not quiet: two describe sound bouncing around the space, and one says the music was loud enough to drown out the next table. One post saw a notice that laptops and tablets are not allowed on weekends and holidays.
  4. Five posts describe the seating: a bar counter along the windows, tables for two to four, and large shared tables. One says the eight-seat table at the back is shared when no big group is using it. Five posts mention a house rule that you cannot change seats once your drinks arrive.
2 more
  1. The chairs are metal, and three posts found them uncomfortable. One said the square metal chairs are a little hard to sit on for long.
  2. Three posts went with friends and two with a partner. No post says the writer went alone.

The cafe is on the third floor, not in a basement. Five posts put it on the third floor, three of them mention climbing the stairs, and one says there is no elevator. One promotional post we did not count calls it a basement cafe, but it records no visit and does not match the address.

No post mentions entering with a wheelchair or stroller, or a step at the door. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there isn't one. Three posts did climb stairs to the third floor, and one says there is no elevator.

Two posts say the restroom is outside the cafe, half a floor down, and opens with a code printed on a card left at each table. Nobody says whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 11 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Posts disagree on whether the toast is actually toasted. One says the peach-plum toast was grilled in unsalted butter to order; another was disappointed that the strawberry toast came on untoasted bread. It may vary by toast.
  • Seven posts give the same hours: noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Six of them copy the listing; only one writer states the hours directly. Nobody mentions a closing day or last order.
  • Prices posted: seasonal toast 10,500 won (fig, mixed berry) or 11,000 won (peach and plum), Corl and Yetea 7,500 won, peach lime ade 8,000 won, vanilla latte 6,500 won. Two posts called it expensive. One post says drinks are 1,000 won off during a noon-2 p.m. happy hour.
  • The phone number 070-7773-9798 appears in many posts' copied info blocks. Nobody says whether the cafe takes reservations.
  • Ten posts from October 2-5, 2026 repeat the same talking points (Corl, Yetea, the subway view, natural light) in the same order with near-identical hashtags. They record no visit or contradict other posts, so we left them out. All our counts exclude them.
