Jinsacheon Hwoguo Seongsu-jeom

진사천훠궈 성수점 Jinsacheon is the Korean reading of 真四川, 'true Sichuan', and hwoguo is hotpot (huoguo) — the sign reads 真四川火锅, 'the real taste of Sichuan'.

A Sichuan hotpot restaurant on the second floor of a building right by Exit 3 of Seongsu Station. You order a per-person set — ₩24,800 for pork up to ₩27,800 for lamb — that brings vegetables, mushrooms, tofu and noodles or rice, then pick two broths for a split pot with a dragon-head centrepiece. Sauces, side dishes and fruit come from a self-serve bar, and thirteen posts mention an ice cream on the way out. We read 30 posts dated 16 June to 3 October 2026: 24 describe a visit, one is a single line in a list, and five are about other restaurants. The earliest visit is an April 2026 receipt. Two posts mention a Friday 7 pm face-changing (bianlian) show in September; one actually watched it.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eleven posts say it is an easy walk from Seongsu Station: from Exit 3, two say one minute, one says two, two say three, one says four, and one 'about 200 m'.
  2. Fifteen posts call the prices easy on the wallet and none call them expensive; many compare it with Haidilao. One couple paid about ₩50,000; another stayed under ₩90,000 even with abalone.
  3. Eight posts say the portions are large; each set brings a serving of meat with cabbage, bok choy, bean sprouts, several mushrooms, tofu and noodles or rice.
  4. Twelve posts say the room is large, repeatedly noting the space between tables. Some add that the sauce bar has two stations, so there was no queue at it.
11 more
  1. Four posts mention the high ceiling.
  2. Three posts mention the floor-to-ceiling windows or a window seat; one says the room is bright with daylight at lunchtime.
  3. Thirteen posts call it clean, often because the building and the restaurant are new; one says the ingredient showcase and the kitchen behind the sauce bar were spotless.
  4. Four posts ordered on a tabletop kiosk or tablet; you can choose to pay first or at the end.
  5. Two posts say they got more vegetables when they asked.
  6. Four posts mention a review promotion; two of them got free meatballs or brisket for writing one.
  7. The red broth comes in several heat levels. Three posts found it spicy: one on level 3 had to switch to the mushroom broth by the end, while one on medium called it pleasantly hot with no upset stomach.
  8. Three posts say the meat had little or no gamey smell; two of them had lamb.
  9. Three posts say the staff were friendly; in one, the owner handed out ice cream at the door.
  10. No post reports waiting. Three walked straight in — mid-afternoon, at a quiet hour, and on a weekday evening — and two booked on Naver and were seated at once. One post says lunchtime gets busy, but its writer went at dinner, so we did not count it. Nobody tells us how long a weekend lunch wait is.
  11. Thirteen posts say who they went with: seven with friends, two with a husband, two with a partner, and two in groups of four or more — one was a wedding-invitation dinner.

Getting inside

Second floor12 of 23 posts
Lift to the floor8 of 23 posts

Twelve posts say it is on the second floor of the building. A post from 21 August found the building under construction and messy inside, but 'open for business' signs along the way made it easy to find.

Every post that mentions the floor says second floor; none mentions a basement or another level.

Eight posts took the building's lift up to the second floor; one mentions standing signs at the ground-floor lift and in the corridor.

Nobody says whether there is a step at the entrance or went in with a wheelchair or pram. One post guesses the aisles are wide enough for a pram, but that writer did not bring one. This means no one reported it, not that there is a problem.

The only word on the toilets is one post copying 'toilet outside the restaurant' from the listing; no one describes using them, or whether they are separate for men and women.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Thirteen posts give opening hours, all copied from the listing: twelve say daily 11:00–24:00 and one (21 August) says 11:00–23:00. Seven give last order as 22:50 and one as 23:50. One copies 'open every day of the year'.
  • An 18 August post says the sets, once weekday-only, were now sold at weekends too, adding that the banner needed fixing; posts from 27 August and 2 September still copy the banner's '₩25,900 weekday set'. The lunch special is split: two posts copy ₩14,900 per person from the banner, one says 'from ₩17,900 including sauce' — possibly the sauce-bar charge, but no one confirms it.
  • Five posts give the phone number as 0507-1410-1565; one gives 010-6494-8851. Two posts booked through Naver, and the copied listing says Catch Table also takes bookings and waitlist sign-ups.
  • Three posts repeat the same line that the owner studied Sichuan and Chongqing hotpot before creating the broth, and two say he runs 100 Chinese franchise outlets. These are the restaurant's own claims, so we did not rely on them. No post discloses sponsorship; five carry a receipt or booking verification or say they paid themselves, and one only says it went 'thanks to a good opportunity'.
