Chinese

BAOJEN

바오젠 Baojen Bao is the Chinese word for a filled steamed bun; the posts do not explain the rest of the name.

Compiled from 5 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Hong Kong-style dim sum and Cantonese restaurant on the ground floor of 59 Seongsuil-ro 8-gil, a short walk from exit 2 of Seongsu Station. It is licensed as "Zhenbao" but every post calls it Baojen. People share dumplings such as xiaolongbao (9,000 won for four), har gow (10,500 won for four) and shrimp-stuffed eggplant (10,500–11,000 won for three) alongside crab fried rice, spicy wonton noodles and Mongolian beef (36,000 won). One post mentions lunch sets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. We read 7 posts from November 2024 to September 2026; 5 describe an actual meal (the other two are a licence list and a copied TV write-up).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Both posts that ordered the spicy wonton noodles called them hot, but they split on the taste: one enjoyed the sharp broth, the other found it very spicy yet thin, though her colleagues liked it.
  2. A Hong Kong-style cucumber side arrives once you order (two posts). One noted a second plate costs 1,500 won and wished it were free.
  3. One post was a company dinner booked by phone for a group; two went with friends. One writer found the room very large, with round tables, sofa seats and a terrace.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Posts saying you can park1 of 5 posts

One post drove there: with a meal, parking was 2,000 won an hour, and the writer was charged the same rate even after wandering Seongsu afterwards. Another post's line about a car park out front sits in a copied info block, so we did not count it.

Where it is

Map showing where BAOJEN is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

1 posts say it is walkable from the station.

Getting inside

No post describes which floor the dining room is on from experience; only the address says ground floor.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in.

Nobody mentioned where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 7 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on price split: an August 2026 post found prices easy enough to order widely, while a June 2026 post felt three pieces of eggplant for 11,000 won was poor value. That dish is listed at 11,000 won in June and 10,500 won in August–September; we cannot tell whether the price dropped or was misremembered. No post says what a meal cost per person.
  • Three posts give the same opening hours — daily 11:00–21:30 with a 15:00–16:00 break — but all copy them from an info block. On closures they disagree: one says closed on Lunar New Year's Day and Chuseok, another says open every day of the year.
  • Only one post lists the phone number (0507-1328-7790). One post booked by phone and says Naver booking also works.
  • No post mentions waiting for a table — not that there is no wait, just that nobody wrote about it.
  • The mention of private rooms appears in near-identical wording in a TV write-up and one visit post, so we treat it as the restaurant's own blurb; no post describes sitting in one.
