Hyojadong Mokgogi

효자동목고기 Hyoja-dong is the name of a Seoul neighbourhood and mokgogi means pork-neck meat — the menu leads with Jeju pork neck.

Compiled from 11 blog posts read in fullSources →

A pork grill house on the ground floor of the SKV1 Tower by Seongsu Station exit 3. It sells Jeju pork neck and jowl-shoulder cap and domestic pork belly in 200 g portions — five posts agree on 20,000, 21,000 and 18,000 won respectively. Staff grill the meat at your table, and everyone gets their own bowl of bean-sprout soup. Eight posts say it is a short walk from the station. We read 30 posts dated 30 July to 29 September 2026; 11 record an actual meal and are the ones we counted. Eighteen were stamped from the same template and one was a five-restaurant roundup, so those were not counted.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff do the grilling: ten of the eleven meal posts say so. One describes the neck being stood on its edge to cook, then a first piece placed on your salt dish and the rest stacked over the heat. One post noted the menu warns grilling may not be offered when it is busy; once the rush came, its meat was cooked in a hurry and the overdone pieces were tough.
  2. Six posts describe the meat as thick-cut. Three say the 200 g portion is large; one says two portions of belly were plenty for two people.
  3. Three posts noticed many foreign diners — one estimated more than half the room were tourists, another found menus in several languages.

Parking

Posts saying you can park1 of 11 posts

Parking is in the building's basement garage. One post actually drove: it parked on B4–B5, got two hours free, and found plenty of space on a weekday evening. Four other posts repeat 'parking available, two hours free', but as copied listing text we did not count them.

The restaurant is at ground level — two posts say so from experience, one describing taking the lift up from the garage and walking to the entrance at the far end of the ground-floor corridor.

No one wrote from experience about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. One post's info box says 'wheelchair accessible', but that is copied listing text and we did not rely on it. This means unknown, not absent.

There is no toilet inside the restaurant; you use the building's. Two posts say so, and one adds that it is through a side door and separated by sex.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 19 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Evenings fill up. One post saw a queue form after it was seated around 7 pm on a Saturday; another got one of the last two tables; a third found it full on a Monday after work and barely found a seat. No post records how many minutes anyone waited.
  • Posts disagree on size: three call it roomy, two say it is not. One of the latter said grown men at neighbouring tables would practically sit back to back; two of the former mention the high ceiling. Table counts range from about 10 to about 15.
  • Three posts call the meat juicy, but one found everything except the belly rather dry. Even the heat source is disputed: four posts mention charcoal, one says a gas burner.
  • All opening hours come from copied info boxes. Five posts give weekdays 10:00–22:00 and weekends 17:00–22:00; two say 10:00–22:00 daily; one says Mon–Sat 16:00–22:00, closed Sundays. Three list a weekday break from 15:00 to 17:00 and two a last order at 21:30. Check before you go.
  • Prices are consistent across posts. Two people having one portion each plus extras spend around 40,000 won — one post lists neck and belly with mixed cold noodles (7,000), rice (1,000) and a cola (2,000). One post found it somewhat pricey per gram. Lunch dishes are said to be around 10,000 won, but no post ate lunch here.
  • Five posts give the phone number 0507-1381-0402. One gives 02-2641-0401 along with different hours; it disagrees with everything else, so we set it aside. Booking via Naver or CatchTable appears only in copied info boxes; no post says it booked ahead.
  • Eighteen posts from 10 August to 13 September 2026 share one template: the same address sentence, then aged meat, table spacing and cleanliness in the same order, with no dish names or prices. One still carries an unerased instruction about a 35-post campaign. We did not count these. Of the 11 meal posts, one discloses sponsorship.
