Horu
호루 Horu is the Korean reading of the hanja 好樓 on the wooden sign — 'good' and 'pavilion' or 'upper storey'; one regular reads it as simply 'a good house'.
Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →
Horu is a Chinese-Korean restaurant behind a brown glass door on the ground floor of an alley off Seongdeokjeong-gil 105, across from the Daiso at Ttukdo Market in Seongsu. One chef cooks everything in an open kitchen and extrudes the noodles in-house. Jjajangmyeon is 8,000 won, seafood jjamppong 12,000, fried rice 9,000 and sweet-and-sour pork 17,000 (dishes are sized for two); seating is a bar facing the kitchen plus about four four-person tables. Of the 25 visits we read, 23 ordered the sweet-and-sour pork. We read 30 posts dated 10 May to 5 October 2026; 25 are first-hand visits, four were about other restaurants and one was a compilation of other people's reviews.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The talking point is the sweet-and-sour pork's coating. Of 23 posts that describe texture, 19 call it crisp, and nearly all add that it is not hard — 'shatters like crisply fried fish skin', 'so full of air I thought I was eating a puffed snack'. Several note the sauce comes separately and has no vegetables in it; one was handed an empty dish for soy sauce to dip in instead.
- Eighteen posts mention the open kitchen. Several watched the chef cut dough and run it through a noodle machine as each order came in. The bar faces the wok directly; one writer found the wok noise made conversation hard.
- Nine posts call the place clean, usually pointing at the kitchen — 'not a speck of grease'. One watched the chef scrub inside the ducts after closing. On the other hand, one writer said smoke lingered in the room and another that food smells cling in the small space.
- Fifteen posts describe a mix of bar seats facing the kitchen and regular tables; three count six bar seats, one counts eight. Pairs are steered to the bar — one post says so plainly, another was refused an empty table and minded, and a third couldn't take a vacant four-top because it was held for a reservation. Solo diners at the bar are mentioned too.

- Six posts call the prices low or fair; none call them high. Two people paid 38,000 won for jjamppong, fried rice and sweet-and-sour pork in one post. Two posts, though, found the pork portion modest for the price, and most pairs ordered one dish plus two meals.
- Three posts from June and July say peanuts were set out while you wait. September posts list the basics as pickled radish, raw onion and black-bean paste and say nothing of peanuts — which may only mean nobody mentioned them.

Parking
2 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Two posts say there is no parking of its own and point to the Seongsu 2-ga 1-dong public lot nearby. One writer parked there (Seongdeokjeong-gil 115) and found it nearly full even on a weekday; another simply thought parking looked difficult. Other parking notes are copied listings.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
3 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
Floor: the address says ground floor, but no writer described the floor or any stairs from experience — nobody mentioned it, which is not the same as there being none.
No post says whether the entrance has a step or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. We don't know.
No post says where the toilet is or whether it is separated by gender. We don't know.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Eight posts say food came slowly, five say it did not. Times given: '20 to 30 minutes', 25, 15 and 7 minutes. Several quote a sign inside warning of delays because one person cooks — that is the restaurant's own notice. The quick visits were mostly right after opening or at quiet hours.
- Waiting depends on timing. Two posts waited: one team ahead around 7 pm on a Saturday, and 30 minutes before 6 pm on a weekend, taking a paper number and standing outside — there is no remote queue. Six walked straight in, and two hedged that there is usually a line. One July post says the kitchen stopped seating guests around 7:30 pm because ingredients ran out.
- Five posts call the room small, one calls it fairly spacious; a few separately note the tables are well spaced.
- Posts put it 12 to 13 minutes' walk from exit 3 of Seongsu station; three writers walked it. Two others hedge — one suggests a bus because it is far, another says it is walkable — and none names a bus route. Several walked past the alley and had to double back.
- Hours: posts broadly agree on closed Sundays and closing at 9 pm Monday to Thursday, 10 pm Friday and Saturday. The afternoon break is 3:30-5:30 pm in four posts from May and June 2026, but 2:00-5:30 (three posts) or 2:30-5:30 (three posts) from July on — it seems to have moved earlier between June and July, so check the current start time. Last orders are 8 pm (9 pm Fri-Sat), and one post saw a notice that the waiting list closes an hour before closing.
- Three posts give the phone number as 0507-1342-3810. One writer understood reservations are by phone only, with no booking app, and saw an empty four-top held as reserved.
- One post from 27 September 2026 stitches together the Naver listing and 'five reviews' by others, so we left it out of the counts. Where posts paste a block of hours, parking, takeout or corkage info, we treat that block as copied and not as evidence.
