Heu

헤우

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

Heu is a pub-style kitchen on the second floor of 4 Seongdeokjeong 17-gil, in the lane behind Ttukdo Market in Seongsu. It opens at 6 pm and runs until 2 am. The menu centres on beef tartare, paired with fried seaweed, sea urchin, black sesame or cheese and truffle, at 27,000–30,000 won. Alongside come laver-cream and buldak-cream pastas (18,000 won), beef-tripe hot pot (28,000 won) and gopdoritang (29,000–30,000 won), with soju, draft beer, highballs and traditional liquors. Four posts mention a game: spend over 70,000 won, stop a stopwatch at exactly 7.77 seconds, and the meal is free. We read 30 posts dated 2 March 2025 to 21 September 2026. Four were not about this place (Heu turned out to be a person's name). Another four were lists, scraped pages or an apparent delivery order, so we did not count them. The remaining 22 describe actual visits. Of those, three disclosed sponsorship and one said the meal was provided.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Hot pots finish cooking at your table, with staff tending them; three posts describe this. In two, a staff member or the owner mixed in the seasoning for the beef-tripe hot pot and checked on it as it cooked. In the third, the gopdoritang needed another 10–15 minutes of simmering, with a server coming and going. That visitor found the burner hot and the constant attention distracting. Two March 2025 posts, by contrast, say the gopdoritang arrived fully cooked. We cannot tell whether the way it is served has changed.
  2. How spicy it is depends on the dish. Five posts call the buldak-cream pasta hot. One warns it is very hot and wonders why the menu carries no warning, and another could not eat much of it. Two posts say the beef-tripe hot pot is not spicy.
  3. Seating mixes a bar counter with tables; eight posts describe both. Typically there is a counter by the door facing an open kitchen, with tables for two to six and a large group table further in. Three posts mention the open kitchen, and three single out the counter as a good spot for drinking alone.
  4. A free bowl of mixed snacks, including puffed corn and crisps, arrives when you sit down; six posts mention it, two naming the chicken-drumstick crackers. Several posts also mention soju glasses with a little cat inside.
3 more
  1. Reserve and you will find a placard with your name on the table. All three posts by people who booked mention it.
  2. Seven posts describe it as quiet. One says no street noise gets in; another says that even when full on weekends it is not rowdy. One visitor found it quiet only because it was empty, and guessed it would be loud and uncomfortable when busy.
  3. Seven posts say portions are generous: two describe a big pot of gopdoritang, two a hot pot packed with tripe, and others a large mound of tartare.

The most ordered dish is yukhoe gimbugak (육회 + 김부각) — 7 of 22 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

Posts saying you cannot1 of 22 posts

Only one post speaks to parking from experience: the bar has no parking of its own. Six more carry a 'no parking' line copied from the listing, which we did not count. One suggests a nearby public car park at 1,200 won an hour.

Getting inside

Second floor11 of 22 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 11 (of 22 posts read)
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 4 (of 22 posts read)

The bar is upstairs, reached by a staircase. Eleven of the 22 visit posts mention going up to the second floor, and six of them mention the stairs specifically. Several describe a stairwell lined with movie posters such as Titanic and The Notebook. One warns you will want to be careful coming down after a few drinks. Several also say the entrance, at the side of a building down a lane, is easy to miss.

Six posts mention climbing stairs, but nobody says whether there is a lift, whether the entrance has a step, or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. That means we do not know, not that the answer is no.

The restroom is outside the bar's door, off the same second-floor landing; four posts say so. Two posts discuss whether it is split by gender, and neither is conclusive. One calls it shared, with two stalls marked men's and women's; the other calls it 'a shared toilet that isn't quite shared'. One post found it cramped, with a wet floor.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post mentions waiting. Two visitors arrived at the 6 pm opening as the first guests and found it full by the time they left, and one says it is often full on weekends. That means nobody wrote about a wait, not that there is none.
  • Opening hours have changed, and posts disagree on closing days. Two March 2025 posts give Friday and Saturday closing at 4 am; from August 2025 posts give 2 am every night, with last orders at 1:10. Posts from May 2026 add a 5 pm opening on Saturdays only. One March 2025 post says it is closed on Wednesdays, a June 2026 post says Thursdays, and the rest say it is open daily, so we cannot say whether there is a regular day off. Most of these hours were copied from the listing.
  • Prices vary a little from post to post. In the same week of May 2026, one post priced the uni tartare at 29,000 won and another at 30,000; the June post also says 30,000. Gopdoritang was 30,000 won in two March 2025 posts and 29,000 in June 2026. The tartare-and-seaweed set is 27,000 won in two visit posts and 25,000 in two copied listings. Only one post gives a total bill: 64,000 won for two women. Three posts say the prices are reasonable.
  • Two phone numbers appear. Six posts up to February 2026 give 0507-1349-3320; four from May 2026 give 010-7292-3315. We do not know which one is answered now. Several posts say bookings can be made through Naver.
  • One post complains about hygiene: stained sofas, and a borrowed card game that smelled of vomit. The same post says the room was hot despite a sign promising 'power cooling'. No other post comments on cleanliness.
  • Four of the 22 visit posts disclosed sponsorship or a free meal. Between 21 and 23 May 2026, four posts appeared with the same template (the same info lines, praise in the same order), and only one disclosed sponsorship. Three more clustered in November 2025, again with only one disclosure. Much of the praise for the atmosphere and food comes from these clusters.
