HOLLY ACAI

할리아사이 Halli Asai The sign reads HOLLY ACAI: 'Holly' plus açaí, the Amazonian berry every bowl here is built on.

Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →

Holly Acai is an açaí bowl shop at 56 Yeonmujang-gil in Seongsu, behind a purple sign on the main strip. You order at the kiosk by the door — size (baby, S, M, L), base, toppings — and eat at small one- or two-person tables on the ground floor or in a basement room down the stairs. The signature Holly S is 15,500 won; the build-your-own bowl starts at 6,900 won for an S and each topping adds to that; an Americano is 6,000 won. The basement opened around spring 2026; one post says there was only the ground floor before that. We read 30 posts from January to October 2026; 25 of them describe eating here. We set aside two posts about the Anguk branch and two whose real subject was a neighbouring business.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Price is the most common complaint. Ten of the 25 visit posts called it expensive; none called it cheap. One post said 15,500 won for a Holly S would buy a whole tub of Yeopgi tteokbokki; another said a loaded M cost about as much as a full meal. Fresh strawberry as a topping felt like roughly one berry per 2,000 won.
  2. No post said the portions were big. Six said they were small — one ordered a large and still found it smaller than expected — and two were on the fence, saying it looked small but was fine for two, or just so-so.
  3. Twelve posts ordered at the kiosk. It stands outside by the door; one post said there was only one, so with people behind you it was hard to take your time choosing. One post noted cash is paid inside; another said sample bowls sit on the kiosk so you can see each size.
  4. Four posts describe an open kitchen where you can watch the bowls being made; one notes the acrylic screen is low enough to see everything. Another saw bananas sliced to order, about half a banana per bowl.
3 more
  1. Waiting is split three to two. Three posts queued — one at the weekend found the kiosk line long but fast-moving. Two did not wait: one got a seat at once as tables turned over, the other came near closing when it was quiet. No post gave a number of minutes.
  2. Sweetness splits four to two: four posts found it not very sweet, two called it sweet. Several found the açaí itself an unfamiliar taste — one likened it to mud, another to something heavily fermented.
  3. Of the posts that say who they came with: family four (a mother, a sibling, a family of five with three children), friends two, alone two, a date one, a group of four one. The family of five ordered three baby bowls for the children. One post asked whether a dog was allowed and was told yes.

Getting inside

In a basement9 of 24 posts

Nine posts mention the basement. One says the ground floor is mostly two-seat tables and the four-seat tables are downstairs; another describes a long table and a calm, quiet room below. Two posts noticed a smell down there — new-renovation odour in June 2026, damp and mould in July. Both posts that called the place quiet were sitting in the basement; the one that found the music too loud was on the ground floor.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in — we don't know, which is not the same as no. The basement is reached by stairs beside the shop; no post mentions a lift. One post describes the ground floor as wide open to the street.

No post says whether there is a toilet inside or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The posted menu and the kiosk may not match: one June 2026 post said prices had gone up from what the menu board showed. Five posts from May to August 2026 all gave 15,500 won for a Holly S, and none reported a change in that time.
  • Twelve posts list opening hours, but all are pasted information blocks. Ten from February to July 2026 say 11:30–22:00 daily; two from late August and early September say 11:00–22:00 daily, one adding a 10:00 start on Wednesdays. No post mentions a closing day or a break.
  • One post describes the walk: about five minutes from Seongsu Station exit 3. Other figures (290 m, four minutes, ten minutes) are copied listings.
  • Eight posts give the phone number 0507-1407-3804; one gives 02-462-3804. No post mentions reservations. One post notes the kiosk has dine-in and takeaway buttons.
  • No post discloses sponsorship; eight say they paid themselves. One writer, though, mentions a sibling works here. One family visit on 9 May 2026 was written up as two posts, so the 25 are not all separate visits. Claims that the açaí is imported from the US, that it is sugar-free, and that famous idols have eaten here come from the shop, and we did not rely on them.
