Giwang Saenggogi
기왕생고기 Saenggogi means fresh, never-frozen meat; Giwang is the proper-name part of the sign, and no post explains it.

Giwang Saenggogi is a Korean barbecue house at 103-104, Twin Building I, 42 Seongsuil-ro 8-gil, near Seongsu Station. The signature is the dwaeji hanmari, an 800 g platter of four pork cuts for 85,000 won, grilled around a pot of soybean stew set in the middle of the grill; at lunch it serves braised pollack and spicy pork sets with stone-pot rice for 13,000-16,000 won. Until spring 2026 it ran a 150-seat basement room in the IBK bank building by exit 4, and moved here when that building was slated for redevelopment. We read 11 posts from October 2024 to August 2026; five record an actual meal, and only one of those (June 2026) is at the new address.

What sets it apart
- No one called the portions small: all five posts that record a meal said they were large. One said the 1 kg beef platter was plenty for three adults, one said the lunch set came with lots of fish, and the new-shop post said the 5,000-won cold noodles were big for the price. Four of the five, though, date from before the move.
- The stew in the middle of the grill gets topped up: two posts say so (October 2024 and November 2025), and the June 2026 post from the new shop says a spare bowl was brought out in advance.
- Lunch sets are normally ordered two portions at a time per dish; one post says they asked specially to get a single portion each of the pollack set and the spicy pork.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
No post says what floor the new shop is on. Several posts put the old one in the basement; for the new one we only have unit numbers 103-104 in the address. That is not a sign it is street level, only that nobody wrote it down.
Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair or stroller access. One post describes stairs down to the old basement shop; nothing is said about the new one.
Nobody said whether the toilet is inside the restaurant. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied listing info, and the new-shop post rated the toilet 3 out of 5 without describing it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 10 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The restaurant has moved. Posts up to March 2026 describe a large 150-seat basement room; a June 2026 post says it relocated because the old building is being redeveloped and that the new shop is less than half the size. We did not count the old shop's size, floor or parking toward the current one.
- The new room is small: the one meal post from there said so, and added that, newly moved, the place still felt disorganised. Most of the posts pitching it for big group dinners describe the old shop.
- Prices have gone up: the beef and pork platters were 88,000 and 75,000 won in autumn 2024 posts, and 98,000 and 85,000 won from November 2025. Of the four posts that discussed price, the three calling it good value all predate the move; the one from the new shop found the gabeuri a bit pricey and paid 195,000 won for dinner for five. A-la-carte prices for the new shop come only from an August 2026 information post, not from a meal.
- Whether the new shop serves beef is unclear. A June 2026 diner found no beef on the menu and was told it had been trimmed with the smaller space; an August 2026 information post still lists the 1 kg beef platter at 98,000 won. With only the first post backed by a visit, we cannot say which is current.
- Service reports differ: one pre-move post found the staff friendly despite the rush, while the new-shop post complained about poor communication and said a request to swap a dirty-looking grill plate was answered with 'it's just the coating'.
- No post describes getting to the new shop by subway. '169 m from Seongsu Station exit 1' is copied listing info, and the one diner walked from home. Every mention of exit 4 refers to the old shop.
- No post reports waiting. A November 2024 post relays that some office workers said they had queued 30 minutes outside, but that is hearsay from the old shop. The new-shop post went at 5:30 on a Tuesday and mentions no wait.
- Many posts pitch it for office dinners, but only one records actually going as a large group (August 2025, old shop). Two went with family and one with a friend.
- Opening hours for the new shop come from a single copied block: open every day, 11:30-22:00 with a 16:00-17:00 break. An August 2026 post gives only the 11:30 opening. Pre-move posts listed the same hours, but we did not count them.
- The phone number, 02-468-1110, is the same in posts before and after the move. That bookings are taken appears only in copied listing info; no post mentions booking.
- Several of the 11 posts are promotional. Of three from the Seongsu Station shopping-street association's blog and supporters, two share a word-for-word menu paragraph and one states it was written with supporter backing. Another meal post repeatedly links to the association's discount-voucher sale.
