Grund is a German wine bar on the second floor of 13 Seongsu-iro 12-gil in Seongsu-dong. Most of the list is German Riesling, and the kitchen sends out German plates: flammkuchen at 17,000 won, Schweinshaxe, Weisswurst with a pretzel. People mostly describe it as a second stop in the evening or a weekend-afternoon drink, a glass or bottle with a flammkuchen. What sets it apart
- A cat lives here. Thirteen of the 22 visit posts mention it, by name: Godal. One December 2025 visitor didn't see it until the owner admitted there was a cat in the loft and brought it down; another says it is so calm you forget it's there.
- The owner picks your wine. Nine posts say he was kind or explained the wines in detail. A solo visitor and a couple both got small tasting pours along the way, and one post notes fresh glasses with every new bottle. Several mention that each Riesling on the menu comes with a written description.
- The window seats are the draw. Four posts describe drinking at the window: watching autumn rain through the big glass, the afternoon light, staring down at the alley in summer.
- It is small; five posts say so. A March 2025 visitor counted six window-bar seats, a six-seat communal table and a small room behind a wall; a November 2025 visitor listed two window bars, one bar, a communal table, a three-person table and a sofa table.

- Two posts walked from Seongsu Station, exit 3, and say it is a bit of a walk. The alley is away from the main strip and quieter; one post warns it gets very dark at night.
- Seven posts went with friends; others went with family, with a husband, or alone. One March 2026 group of eight shared rosé Sekt.
- Food isn't fast. One post says the Schweinshaxe takes time but they were sipping wine anyway; a March 2025 visitor, noting the owner works alone, said it isn't quick but isn't slow either.
- One February 2026 post brought its own bottle: you order from the house first, and the owner opens yours once you offer him a glass. A copied notice in an April 2025 post ('free corkage, one house bottle required') wasn't counted. Another visitor was allowed to eat a cake they brought, plates included.
- Music comes off vinyl. A September 2025 visitor's mother got her request played; another heard Max Richter on LP.
- Two posts mention reservations: one booked through CatchTable in December 2025; another walked into an empty room on a March 2026 Saturday and learned every table was already booked.

It's upstairs. Three posts describe going up to the second floor; one says the stairwell is hung with photos the owner took in Germany.
No post mentions a step at the door or an elevator. Visitors do describe climbing stairs to the second floor. That doesn't mean there's no lift — just that no one wrote about one.
No post says where the restroom is or whether it's split by gender.

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 7 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opening hours appear in only two posts, and they disagree. April 2025: 5pm to midnight, Saturdays from noon, closed Sundays. September 2026: Monday to Saturday 3pm to midnight, Sunday 2pm to 10pm. Both are copied notices, so we can't tell whether the hours changed or one is wrong. A November 2025 visitor arrived at a noon opening. Check before you go.
- Prices are patchy. Flammkuchen at 17,000 won is consistent, but the 43,000-won Schweinshaxe comes from a single roundup, and the cheese platter shows as 17,000 won in July 2026 and 15,000 won in that roundup. One post noted an 89,000-won bottle; nobody wrote down a by-the-glass price. We don't know what a typical evening costs per person. One diner thought it good value.
- An April 2026 post says you can't order food alone; a drink is required, though drinks alone are fine. A December 2025 post says the Riesling flight can't be combined with food.
- No post describes waiting for a table. That doesn't mean there's never a wait — only that nobody reported one. One visitor did find it fully booked.
- The phone number 02-6954-1255 appears in two posts as copied info. One visitor booked through CatchTable; nobody mentions booking by phone.
