Soup and riceKorean
Eobuowa
어부오와 Eobuowa is Samcheok (Gangwon Province) dialect for 'come on in, welcome'.
Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →
Eobuowa is a Gangwon-style chicken soup house in a half-basement of an old house on an alley off Yeonmujang 1-gil in Seongsu, decorated like a country home. The dakgaejang is shredded chicken stewed thick, poured over black rice in the bowl; posts list it at 12,000 won, with potato pancake also at 12,000 won. Six posts got or were offered extra rice, and three called it cheap for Seongsu. Chicken kalguksu (11,000 won) was added in spring 2026 and dropped in late August, so the soup is now the only meal on the menu. We read 30 posts from April to September 2026; 17 were actual visits, and the other 13 only linked to this place at the end of reviews of other shops.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Tea comes instead of water. Five posts noted it, guessing barley, burdock or hovenia tea; a December 2025 visit got it hot. Three posts said hot water or tea is available on request.
- Three posts said it looks red but is not hot; none called it spicy, and one described it as mildly warming. Several noted chopped hot peppers and pepper on the table to add yourself.
- Side dishes are stir-fried kimchi and anchovies; with the potato pancake, posts got soy sauce, kimchi and greens. Three posts asked for refills, one taking more kimchi three times.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | 5 of 15 posts |
|---|
You go down stairs from the front door. Five posts said the room is below street level, four of them calling it more of a half-basement; two mentioned the steps down from the entrance.
Two posts mention steps down at the entrance, but no one wrote about thresholds or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. We don't know.
Only one post's info box lists the toilet as indoors and separated by gender; no one described using it, so we don't count it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Waits are mixed. Three posts (weekday 12:30, weekend just before the break, a Wednesday lunch) walked straight in, one finding only a single table occupied; one January 2026 weekday visit had a queue. No one recorded how long.
- One post walked from Seongsu Station, about 10 minutes; the '5 minutes from Ttukseom Station exit 5' line in two posts is copied listing text.
- Ten posts give the same hours (Mon-Sat 11:00-21:00, break 15:00-17:00, closed Sunday), all in copied info boxes. No one noted a last-order time.
- The phone number 02-466-0801 appears in two posts' info boxes. One lists reservations as possible, but no one wrote about booking.
- The menu changed. Visits in December 2025 and January 2026 found only the soup and potato pancake; posts from May and June list chicken kalguksu at 11,000 won; from late August posts report it was dropped. Reviews of the kalguksu describe a dish no longer sold.
