BUTTY SANDWICH HOUSE
버티샌드위치하우스 Beoti Saendeuwichi Hauseu Butty is British slang for a sandwich, so the name amounts to 'Sandwich Sandwich House'.
Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →
Butty Sandwich House is a sandwich and panini shop in a converted two-storey house, down an alley a short walk from Seongsu Station exit 3. You order at the ground-floor counter, the sandwich is made at the bar beside it, and you eat in the garden terrace or on either floor. Sandwiches and panini run from 12,000 to 16,000 won, and many people also buy the house ciabatta to take home. We read 30 posts dated 2 August to 3 October 2026; 29 describe a visit and one is a listicle.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Waits are split: four posts waited and four walked straight in. One arrived before the 9 a.m. opening to find a long line, one waited six minutes via CatchTable at 2 p.m. on a weekend, and one queued even for takeaway. Posts visiting at 2:30 p.m. on a weekday and at noon and 3 p.m. on Saturdays sat down at once. Four posts explain that indoor seats go through the CatchTable kiosk at the entrance, while terrace seats and takeaway need no queue. One adds that people often grab empty seats before being called, so looking for a seat inside can be quicker than waiting.
- Three posts describe walking from Seongsu Station exit 3: about 50 m towards Yeonmujang-gil, right, then left at the Ader Error alley into a narrow lane. One circled several times because the sign cannot be seen from the side. Stated walking times range from 3 to 10 minutes, mostly copied from listings; the post that timed it said about 10.
- Nine posts remark on how many foreign visitors there were; one arriving at 9:25 on a weekend morning put it at over 80 percent. Two posts mention a separate English menu.
- Fifteen posts say you can watch the ground-floor sandwich bar slice jambon on a deli slicer and press panini on the grill; the bread oven is upstairs. Much of this wording repeats across posts written to the same template.
4 more
- Twenty-three posts mention the garden terrace. Visitors in July and August sat indoors because of the heat, and one September post moved inside because cigarette smoke drifted over from a construction site opposite.
- Indoors is on the cramped side: four posts say the tables are packed close together, and two say the ground floor is tight and noisy while the upper floor is roomier and calmer.
- Portions split three to three: one side compares a panini to a Whopper Jr. and suggests three dishes for two big eaters, the other says half a sandwich was filling.
- Sandwiches cost 12,000 won (the Butty) to 16,000 won (mushroom melt panini, miso salmon); coffee is 5,000 won and smoothies 8,500 to 9,500 won. Three posts call it pricey, and three sandwiches to go came to 40,000 won. One post notes delivery-app prices run about 500 won higher.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

The registered address lists a basement level, but no post mentions one; posts describe only the ground floor, upper floor and terrace. That means no one wrote about it, not that it does not exist.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. One post says the upper floor is reached by going out to the garden and up a staircase, and no one mentions a lift. A parent with a baby held the child and took turns eating because the table was small.
We do not know whether the toilets are indoors: 'toilet inside the shop' appears only in a copied listing, and a first-hand post places the men's toilet by the ground-floor terrace.
The toilets are on different floors by gender: two posts say the men's is on the ground floor and the women's upstairs, one placing the men's by the ground-floor terrace.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Ten posts follow one template, repeating phrases like 'fresh fillings in house-baked bread', 'group orders for offices' and 'new salt ciabatta' in the same order; only one discloses sponsorship. We still counted them as visits, since each describes its own order and seat, but we did not rely on the shop's own lines such as pets on the terrace or group orders.
- The salt ciabatta appears as a new item from late August. Both posts that tried to buy one found it sold out, one saying it goes by 2 p.m.
- Nineteen posts give opening hours as 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, and nine give last orders at 6:30 p.m., all copied from listings. One post from 2 August says 8 p.m. Two say there is no closing day.
- No post gives a phone number (one says none is listed), and none mentions reservations; indoor seats are handled through the CatchTable waitlist.
