AKASAKA CLUB

아카사카 크라부 Akasaka Keurabu Akasaka is a Tokyo nightlife district and kurabu is the Japanese way of saying 'club' — a name meant to evoke a small Tokyo yakiniku bar.

Compiled from 7 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Japanese-style yakiniku bar on a side street of Seongsu, between Seongsu and Ttukseom stations, where you grill over your own charcoal brazier. The posts that went ordered the thick-cut premium tongue (130 g, 38,000 or 39,000 won), the Akasaka chef's set (79,000 won) and the three-way tongue platter (39,000 won), with Kirin draft (9,000 won) or highballs. Seating is mostly bar, with a few tables. Two posts say it used to be called Horumon Gyusang. We read 30 posts dated 30 May to 9 September 2026. We set aside 15 about a two-day bagel pop-up next door, and did not count seven news posts about the owner, singer Kang Hyun-soo of V.One, or one neighborhood list, since none of them went. Seven posts are actual visits.

Rows without a count: 2 of 4 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. It is mostly bar seating with only a few tables — four posts say so, one counting about three group tables and what looked like a single private room. One post says there are four-seat tables but the bar gets better service; another enjoyed watching the meat being sliced right in front of the bar.
  2. You grill the meat yourself over a charcoal brazier at your seat — three posts say so. One notes the grill is small, so you cook two or three pieces at a time; another warns the heat builds and things burn, and that a late order of rib suffered once the coals faded. Staff told one table the grilling order for the set.
  3. Two posts brought their own bottle. In June 2026 a Saturday visit paid 30,000 won corkage on wine and was handed plastic glasses (the writer had read corkage is waived on non-Saturdays over 50,000 won a head). In September 2026 corkage was free on bills over 100,000 won, and the writer brought whisky and got glasses with ice.
  4. Three posts booked — CatchTable for a Sunday dinner, Naver booking for 5 p.m. on a Saturday, and one urging CatchTable. None waited. One was the first dinner guest on a May evening; another found the bar still not full at 7 p.m. on a Saturday and thought two people could walk in. One notes a two-hour limit when the bar is full.

  1. Two posts saw a wall covered in celebrity autographs. That the owner is singer Kang Hyun-soo of V.One comes from seven August 2026 news posts that repeat the same story; only one visitor mentioned it, and only in passing.
  2. Three posts call it expensive. One puts most meat at around 30,000 won a portion and says two people pass 100,000 won quickly with a few sides.

Where it is

Map showing where AKASAKA CLUB is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No visitor said what floor it is on or whether there are steps; the '1st floor' is from the registered address.

We don't know whether the entrance has a step or takes a wheelchair or stroller — not that there is a problem, just that no one wrote about it.

No one said where the toilet is. A copied 'separate men's and women's toilets' line in one post is registry info, so we didn't count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 15 posts we gathered, 8 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-08-154 posts in one day
2026-08-112 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The name changed: a June 2026 post says it was formerly Horumon Gyusang, and a September 2026 writer visited several times under that name three years earlier. No one says it moved, and we do not know when the name changed.
  • A September 2026 writer who had been about three times titled the post 'won't go again', preferring another place at the same price; a June writer wasn't sure about returning. One found the tongue chewy rather than tender, and one found the three-cut platter small.
  • Opening hours come only from listings copied at the top of four posts. Three agree on 16:30–23:00 on weekdays and 15:00–22:00 on Sundays (last order 22:00, 21:00 Sundays). Saturday opening splits 15:30 (two) versus 16:30 (one), and one gives a flat 15:00–23:00. Nobody mentions a closing day. Three posts give the same phone number, 02-2205-0116.
  • No visitor described walking from a station; the exit numbers and the 572 m figure are copied listings. One post says it sits away from Seongsu's busy main strip.
  • Of the seven visits, five were couples and one was with a sibling. No one went with friends or a group, so we can't say how it works for larger parties.
