Yakitori Mori

야키토리 모리 Yakitori is the Japanese word for charcoal-grilled chicken skewers; none of the posts explains what 'Mori' stands for.

Compiled from 8 blog posts read in fullSources →

Yakitori Mori is a charcoal chicken-skewer izakaya on the second floor of a building in a side street off Wangsimni-ro 4-gil in Seongsu, a short walk from Ttukseom Station exit 7. Skewers come as sets (an 8-skewer platter at 27,000 won, a 9-skewer omakase) or singly, alongside tsukune, grilled rice balls and fig cream cheese with crackers, with Asahi on draft, highballs and sake. It appeared in a list of new openings in late October 2025, and posts from February and April 2026 still call it newly opened. We read 30 posts dated 20 October 2024 to 5 October 2026; 17 were about other places (neighbouring skewer bars such as Bamtori, or unrelated restaurants also called Mori). Of the 13 about this place, 8 record an actual visit, from December 2025 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Two posts say you must start with a set: a March 2026 post says this applies at weekends (the 8-skewer set or the per-person 9-skewer omakase), and a June 2026 post says single skewers alone cannot be ordered. Posts from December 2025 and February 2026 ordered skewers one by one, so we cannot tell whether the rule depends on the day or has changed.
  2. Three posts mention a free cabbage salad as soon as you sit down; two note it is topped with salted kelp (shio kombu).
  3. Two posts describe the room: one counts three four-person tables and six counter seats, the other a bar counter and four or five tables. A June 2026 post sat at the counter watching the chef fan the charcoal grill.
  4. Three posts call it quiet; one notes the owner runs it alone, and another that the room is small.

Getting inside

Second floor3 of 8 posts
Step at the entrance1 of 8 posts

Three posts say it is upstairs on the second floor; one describes climbing a staircase from the alley, another gives the walk from Ttukseom exit 7 past a raw-fish restaurant to a cute skewer sign on the second floor. The address also lists a third floor, but no post describes it.

No post places it in a basement; three say it is on the second floor.

Nobody says whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in or whether there is a lift; one post only mentions walking up stairs from the alley.

No post says where the toilet is or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 13 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices have moved: the three-skewer set with a draft beer was 16,000 won in a December 2025 post and 17,000 won in May–June 2026. Other prices given are 27,000 won for the 8-skewer platter, 8,000 won for a peach oolong highball and 8,500 won for an Asahi (all June 2026). No post states what a whole meal cost. Figures such as 29,000 won for a 10-skewer omakase come from a copied information table and we have not relied on them.
  • Two posts mention booking ahead, and one recommends it.
  • No post mentions waiting for a table. That does not mean there is no wait, only that nobody wrote about one.
  • One post describes the walk and calls it practically at Ttukseom exit 7; distances like '60 m from exit 7' elsewhere are copied listing data. Nobody mentions buses.
  • Two posts give the same opening hours, Monday to Saturday 6 p.m. to midnight; one adds that it closes on Sundays and the other a last order at 11 p.m. Both are copied listing details, not times anyone checked in person.
  • Only one post gives a phone number (0507-1378-9427); one says Naver booking is available.
  • Five of the 13 posts about this place are not visit records; one of them (May 2026) is assembled from listing tables, review statistics and the shop's own blurb, so its prices and review-event offer are treated as copied, not observed.
