Cafe

TYPES

타입스 Taipseu Types is simply the English word; the shop's slogan reads 'for all types of people & stories', and its signature drinks are named White Type, Brown Type and Green Type.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

Types is a small cafe-and-pub on the ground floor of a side street off Seoulsup 4-gil, near Seoul Forest. By day it serves coffee from a choice of three beans plus desserts; in the evening there's San Miguel on draft and spritzes. Five posts agree on 4,500 won for an Americano and five on 8,000 won for tiramisu, and one writer paid 17,000 won for two Americanos and a tiramisu. Fifteen posts mention the outdoor seating with camping chairs at the front and side. We read 30 posts dated May 4 to October 3, 2026; 28 are about this cafe and every one of them is a first-hand visit. The other two only name it in passing while reviewing other places.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The outdoor seating defines the place: fifteen posts mention it. One describes a tarp pitched over the parking space beside the building with camping chairs and tables beneath; another notes an awning overhead, and one found blankets laid out on the terrace. On a cool mid-September day one writer saw more customers outside than in. One post counted only about two outdoor seats, apparently seeing just the spots by the entrance.
  2. Seven posts call it quiet and one found it noisy. At 2 p.m. on a weekday one writer saw people working on laptops or reading; a regular who goes at weekday lunchtimes says the tables are far enough apart that office talk doesn't carry. Only one post, from September 27, describes the inside as a bit cramped and a bit loud.
  3. The room is small: six posts say so and none call it roomy. One writer counted about six tables, another guessed roughly 43 square meters, and a group of four found a larger table among the two- and four-seaters. Writers also liked the sofa seats.
  4. Nine posts note that beer is sold. Only one writer drank it: drawn in by a BEER sign on a holiday afternoon, she had a 440 ml glass with chips and cheesecake and felt a little awkward being the only table drinking. A September 6 post, by contrast, saw plenty of people having an afternoon beer. One writer says the lights go down after dark and it starts to feel like a pub.
3 more
  1. Three posts involve dogs: two July visitors brought theirs (one sat on the terrace), and an October 3 writer saw two dogs there. One post copies a listing that limits pets to the outdoor and terrace seats, so whether dogs are allowed inside is unconfirmed.
  2. Six posts describe going with friends, four with a partner or spouse, one with a mother and one alone; the solo visitor was killing an hour before a nearby pop-up opened.
  3. Two writers describe walking there: one from Ttukseom Station toward Seoul Forest, finding it down a side street, and one who says it's an easy 5–7 minute walk from Ttukseom exit 8 or Seoul Forest Station. Other posts' 'Seoul Forest Station exit 5' is copied from the listing.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Two writers describe walking there: one from Ttukseom Station toward Seoul Forest, finding it down a side street, and one who says it's an easy 5–7 minute walk from Ttukseom exit 8 or Seoul Forest Station. Other posts' 'Seoul Forest Station exit 5' is copied from the listing.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 25 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 25 posts

One writer notes from experience that it's on the ground floor. Another, recalling a visit around Christmas, urges readers to go down to the basement, but we can't date that visit and no post describing the layout mentions a lower floor, so we didn't count it. We don't know whether there is basement seating.

No post says whether there's a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That's unknown, not a no.

One post says the restroom is inside the cafe and easy to use. No one mentions whether it's separated by gender or how big it is.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • No one reports waiting for a seat. One writer came here to escape a queue elsewhere; another arrived at 7 p.m. on a weekday and watched the tables fill up. That doesn't mean there's never a wait, only that nobody wrote about one.
  • One post warns that seating is limited to two hours on weekends and holidays, and another copies the same rule from the listing. No one describes actually being asked to leave.
  • Thirteen posts give opening hours, all copied from listings. Twelve agree: Tuesday to Saturday 11:00–22:00, Sunday 11:00–18:00, closed Mondays, with three adding last orders at 21:30 (17:30 on Sundays). A September 1 post instead lists Monday–Saturday 11:00–21:00, and a May 21 post says Sunday runs to 19:00 in its text. A 'daily 10:30–21:00' block atop a September 5 post belongs to a different cafe in Songpa-gu and was ignored.
  • Prices come from two posts that copied the menu and a few that priced their orders: drinks run from 4,000 won (espresso) to 6,500 won, desserts from 5,000 to 9,500 won. Only the matcha latte differs—5,500 won in May, 6,000 won in September—which may be a price rise, but two posts aren't enough to tell. No one called it expensive.
  • Three posts copy the phone number 0507-1379-7062. No one says whether the cafe takes reservations.
  • The seasonal dessert changes: posts from May and June 2026 mention strawberry tiramisu as the seasonal item, while two posts from late September on feature a fig Eton mess. Those two fig posts read similarly—date-course framing, strong recommendations—but neither discloses sponsorship, so we counted them like any other post.
