Obaltan Seoulsup grills beef tripe and large intestine over charcoal, on the ground floor of the Megabox Square building across from exit 2 at Seoulsup station. You do not do the grilling: a member of staff works your grill from start to finish. Most meals end with yangbap, rice fried with tripe on a hot stone plate. A portion of the grill runs to the mid-forty-thousands. It is one of several branches in Seoul, and the posts we read begin in November 2022.

What sets it apart
- Sixteen of the thirty posts say the staff do the grilling — the single most repeated sentence about this place, more common than any remark about flavour. Several describe someone stationed at the table turning the meat before it catches; six say the upshot is that you simply talk. Two, at tables with children, report the meat being cut onto the child's plate as well. Three note this matters especially for the tripe, which toughens if it is grilled badly.
- Fifteen posts call it expensive. The prices they record agree with one another: ₩45,000 for the tripe, ₩43,000 for the large intestine, ₩62,000 for the marinated ribs, ₩61,000 for the sirloin. Three write down an actual bill — ₩364,000 for four adults and three small children, ₩228,000 for three (₩188,000 after a coupon), and 'nearly two hundred thousand' for a dinner for two. The same posts that say it is worth the money also say it is not a place you come to often. One writer puts it plainly: if they earned more, they would come weekly.
- Six posts remark that a grill house smells and smokes less than they expected here. They describe extraction that keeps the smoke out of your eyes and the smell out of your coat. Two set it against the offal houses they usually go to — loud, hazy — and say this one was not that. Fourteen call the room clean and roomy; nine mention the space between tables.
- Nine posts are by people who had been before — actual returns, not stated intentions. One has gone since their twenties; one is on a third visit; one came for a birthday two years ago and again for their wife's; one is back after a work dinner two or three years earlier. One blogger wrote twice within two months, which is why two of the thirty are theirs.
- Eight posts came with family, eight came in a group. A table of eight including grandparents; four adults and three toddlers; parents and a fifth-grader; a mother feeding a son before his exams. Five came with children — one notes child-sized tableware arriving unasked, and that plenty of other small children were in the room. Five more are work dinners.

There is parking, but the free allowance differs from post to post. Nine agree on the mechanics: you use the building's underground car park and give your plate number when you pay. On how long it is free, three say two hours and two say three. The three-hour posts are from October 2025 and April 2026, the two-hour ones from June, July and September 2026 — which could be a change or could be a misremembering. We have not checked, so ask when you book if you plan to linger.

Not one post says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair gets in. Several mention the ground floor and the lift up from the car park, but nobody writes about a step at the door or the width of the aisles — not even the five who brought small children. It does not mean yes and it does not mean no; it means nobody said.

Of the 31 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The corkage figure differs too. Two posts say you can bring your own bottle: one records ₩30,000 a bottle in April 2026, the other ₩40,000 in June. Three more drank wine without writing down what it cost them. Worth a call if you plan to carry something in.
- Accounts of waiting split. One post reports a short queue on weekdays and a long one at weekends; another, arriving without a booking, was quoted twenty minutes. Three found the room quiet, and all three arrived either around five, as the afternoon break ended, or at midday on a weekday. Eight booked ahead, several of them into a private room — for a group, booking reads less like an option than the normal way in.
- Opening hours and the afternoon break vary between posts. Almost all give 11:30 to 22:00 daily. On the break, six say 14:30–17:00, one says 14:00–16:30, one says 14:00–17:00. Two say there is no break at weekends. One post has the shop opening at two on Tuesdays, which nothing else corroborates. Two say the lunch menu stops at two, so a midday visit leaves less room than it looks.
- Five posts used a discount coupon. Two explain the mechanics: three portions of the grill or more, and a screenshot shown when you pay. One took ₩40,000 off; one found a coupon on a second-hand app and saved ₩140,000. Two say they wait for a coupon before coming, which is its own statement about the list price. These were dated promotions — October 2025, May 2026 — and we cannot tell you whether one is running now.
- Not one post discloses being paid. Ten say they paid themselves, two say the company did, and the remaining eighteen say nothing either way — which is not the same as taking nothing. One writer puts the whole price question in a sentence: not somewhere they go on their own money, but somewhere they end up often enough on the company's.
- Two posts record separate men's and women's toilets inside the building — but both are copying the facility list from the shop's Naver Place entry rather than reporting a visit to them, and neither distinguishes a toilet inside the restaurant from one along the building's corridor. On an accessible toilet, no post says anything at all.
- No post describes the floor from having stood on it. Several write 'ground floor, Megabox Square' — that is the address, copied. One adds that the shop sits inside the building and is not visible from the street, and several come up from the underground car park; none says whether that route has stairs or a lift.
