Mokuba
모쿠바 Mokuba reads like the Japanese word for a wooden horse; none of the posts explains the name.

Mokuba is a small izakaya at 13-1 Wangsimni-ro 4-gil in Seongdong-gu, a few minutes up a side street from Ttukseom Station exit 7. One owner slices aged sashimi in front of a bar counter; the Moku course is 45,000 won per person, seasonal aged sashimi 39,000 won and Ebisu draught 9,000 won. A post from 21 January 2026 says it had opened the week before. We read 9 posts dated 21 January to 31 August 2026; 7 of them record an actual meal.

What sets it apart
- Indoors there is only a bar counter: six of the seven posts with a meal say so, and the two that counted give about eight seats. One notes you cannot sit facing each other. No post mentions a table for a group.
- There are a few seats outside as well. Three posts mention them, one counting four; a late-April 2026 post drank outside with the door open.
- The fish is cut right in front of you: three posts watched the owner slice it at the counter. Claims about the fish being caught that day are the owner's words, and we do not count them.
- Wasabi crackers arrive first as a free nibble; three posts mention them.
3 more
- Four posts call it quiet, usually adding that it suits a conversation over a drink.
- Of the five posts that discuss price, two say it was not expensive; none calls it expensive.
- A small order is fine: a March 2026 post ordered only cucumber and a rice soju and was not pressed to order more. This is one post.

Where it is

From the station
2 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
No post describes the floor or any steps from experience; only the address says ground floor.
Nobody says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair gets in. That means we don't know, not that there is none.
No post says where the toilet is or whether it is separated by sex. We don't know.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 9 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Two posts by the same writer (January and April 2026) say the food was given free; they are two of the three that praise the owner's friendliness. Two posts from May and August 2026 copy listings and review stats without a meal, so we did not count them.
- Four posts give opening hours, but the opening time varies: 17:00 in two, 17:30 and 18:00 in one each; all four close at 01:00. One January 2026 post says closed Sundays, while an April post says every day. All are copied info boxes. One April post heard lunch service would start the following week; no post has been there at lunch.
- Prices: seasonal aged sashimi was 39,000 won in a post that ate it in April 2026, but 43,000 won in a menu copied in May; no post with a meal confirms a rise. The only per-person figure is the 45,000-won course.
- Only one post addresses waiting: at 6:30 on a weekday they were the first guests. Another booked a 17:00 slot through CatchTable. How long the wait is at busy times, we don't know.
- Only two posts say who they went with (friends; a sister). Whether it suits solo diners or groups is not shown by any first-hand post.
- One post copied 'pets allowed' from an info box; we did not count it, and no post went with a pet.
- The phone number 0507-1418-1326 appears in one post only. One post booked through CatchTable; none booked by phone.
