Cafe

Medium Stone

미디엄스톤 Midieom Seuton Medium Stone — the café works stone objects into its rooms, and its signature drinks and cake are named Moonstone, Sunstone and Yellowstone.

Data as of · Published ·

Medium Stone is a café in a converted red-brick house on a residential lane in Seongsu-dong, a short walk from exit 7 of Ttukseom Station, using the ground floor, the second floor and the roof. You order drinks at the ground-floor counter, pick a cake from the display case, then sit on the ground floor, upstairs or on the roof. An americano is 4,300 won, the signature Moonstone and Sunstone drinks are 7,000 won, and a slice of cake is 6,500–7,000 won, so a drink and a cake come to about 11,000–14,000 won. We read 30 posts dated 19 May to 4 September 2026. Two were about other places and were set aside, and four were introductions or lists by people who hadn't been, so our counts come from the 24 visit posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours

What sets it apart

  1. Seventeen posts say there is rooftop seating. Some sat up there for a long time; one went up after the rain stopped and was surprised how big it was. Two posts were inconclusive: a July weekday visitor thought the roof wasn't open, probably because of summer, and a family visitor thought it looked hard to sit there. Many say it would be best in spring or autumn; no post says the roof was open in high summer.
  2. Ten posts call it quiet: soft background music, a calm room compared with the crowds of Seongsu. Two people went alone with a book or laptop. But one June visitor found every seat taken, and another, sheltering from rain, got the last free seat.
  3. No post calls it expensive. Four say the prices are fair: a 4,300-won americano is reasonable for Seongsu, the 6,800-won blueberry Basque cheesecake is good for the price, and one rates prices as "average".
  4. Nine posts say it is close to the station — almost all mention Ttukseom Station exit 7, with walks of about 2 minutes or 100 metres. Some add that it is walkable from Seoul Forest Station too.

Parking

1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 24 posts

Eight posts touch on parking, but nearly all copy the listing's "no parking". One post states it in its own summary. Several suggest nearby paid lots such as the Seongsu Arts Centre hall or the Seongdong sports centre.

There are steps at the entrance. Five posts mention them: you climb half a flight to reach a ground floor that feels like a 1.5th or second floor. One lists "lots of entrance stairs" and says that with many steps and no lift it would be hard with a pushchair or wheelchair. Several posts also warn that the stairs from the second floor to the roof are steep and narrow.

No post describes getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. One post saw the stairs and lack of a lift and judged it would be difficult. The two posts written by families with children don't say what they did with a pushchair.

Two posts say the toilets are inside; one says the women's toilet is on the second floor and the men's on the third. Nobody mentions an accessible toilet.

No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Nobody reports waiting. Two posts say there was no queue: one couple were the first customers at 3 p.m. on a weekend, and another says you can get in without a wait even at weekends. Since one visitor found it full, that doesn't mean it is always empty.
  • Accounts of the staff differ: two posts found the owner kind, including to a child, and one found service not very friendly, perhaps because one person was working alone. Many posts say they would come back, but one says they wouldn't — the decaf americano wasn't to their taste.
  • Two posts describe visits with children. Only one mentions high chairs — it says there are none — and nobody mentions a changing table.
  • Twenty posts give the same hours — 11:30 to 21:30 every day, last orders at 20:30 — but most copy them from the listing. One post copies "open all year"; nobody confirms closing days first-hand.
  • Many posts give the same phone number, 0507-1383-7181. One copies a notice that groups of five or more can reserve through Naver, and one post saw a reserved sign on the long table on the second floor.
  • Many June posts repeat the same lines in the same order: a Brazil–Colombia–Guatemala blend, water-process decaf, and desserts made in-house with Valrhona chocolate, cage-free eggs and dairy cream. We treat these as the shop's own description passed along, not as evidence. No post discloses sponsorship; two say they paid for themselves.
  • We can't tell whether prices changed: the gâteau chocolat is 6,500 won in a June post and 6,800 won in July–August posts. One July post introduces a new black-sesame bingsu, "Black Wave", at 18,000 won, but it reads as promotion rather than a visit, so we haven't counted it.
