Laihong is a Chinese restaurant at unit 102, ground floor of Seoul Forest IT Valley, 214 metres from exit 4 at Ttukseom. It is not a chain — this is the only one (two posts say so). It shares the parade with a bean-sprout soup house, a yukgaejang house, a kimbap shop and a cold-noodle house; we are next to the soup house, by the car-park entrance. Being inside an office block, lunch is the trade — jjamppong is the dish, a different rice bowl each weekday at ₩9,000, and a discounted set between 11:30 and 14:30. Weekdays 11:20 to 21:30, Saturday 11:00 to 20:00, closed Sunday, with a break from three to five. There is an hour's free parking under the building. We read twenty-seven posts, from December 2019 to June 2026.

  **The most-ordered dish and the most praised.** Two titles are built around the broth; one writer settles on "the jjamppong, at least, I can recommend." **The brisket version is Friday's dish of the day**, which is why one writer goes on Fridays. **It is hot** — four say so, one adding that "I called it spicy, but it is still a good jjamppong." **You can ask for more or less heat** ("I always say make it hot"). One laments that there is no half-and-half bowl.

  **Brisket jjamppong is ₩10,000 as the day's dish and ₩11,000–12,000 otherwise** — the posts give ₩10,000 (2024), ₩11,000 (July 2023) and ₩12,000 (2026), so **the day-menu price and the standard price are mixed together, and it has gone up in between.** One post puts the seafood version with rice at ₩9,000.

  One title makes it compulsory alongside the jjajangmyeon. **It arrives with the sauce already poured** — a point one dipper-partisan records, so know that before you go. Others call it plump with a sweet sauce, and generous. **The small size comes in the lunch set**, which three ordered; one expected little of it and was pleasantly wrong.

  Two titles feature the fried rice. One writer's recommendation is "the brisket jjamppong and the prawn fried rice." The Sichuan seafood version appears as a day dish. One notes that a bowl of jjamppong broth comes with it.

  **This is what the restaurant is for — a different cheap dish each weekday.** Several posts tell office workers to order from it, and one lists them: **Monday, mala mapo tofu over rice; Tuesday, Sichuan aubergine.** Another gives **Friday as the brisket jjamppong.** Pepper-beef rice and Sichuan seafood fried rice come at the same price. One notes people who check the offers before deciding where to eat. **The lunch set runs 11:30–14:30** — sweet-and-sour pork, jjajang and jjamppong at a discount.

  **There are banquet courses** — one post is titled for the day they ate one, and a 2019 writer's boyfriend's parents ordered course B. One returns for the guobaorou every time; another had the three-delicacy noodle soup. Three note that groups can book and that the partitioned tables are used for office lunches.

Parking

3 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

There is an hour's free parking under the building. Four mention parking but only one in his own words — "you can park underneath; the first hour is free." The rest carry it in a title or a copied line, so only that one is counted. One notes the restaurant is by the car-park entrance, so it is easy to find. But this is a place with a lunch queue, and an hour may not be generous; nobody records what the overage costs.

Getting there

Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.

Getting inside

No post says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair can get in — none of the words appears anywhere in the twenty-seven posts. That it is on the ground floor, that nobody mentions stairs, and that it sits to the left of the main entrance by the car park, is the extent of it. Several describe eight tables for two to four with partitions between them, but nobody gives the width of the aisles. That is not a finding of no access; if it matters, ring (02-6968-0808).

When the posts appeared

What we do not know

• Saturday is shorter and Sunday is closed — an old post will send you on a wasted trip. From September 2024, six posts separate the days: weekdays 11:20–21:30 (last orders 21:00), Saturday 11:00–20:00 (last orders 19:30), closed every Sunday. But the 2022–2023 posts do not separate them — "every day, 11:00 to 21:30," "every day, 11:30 to 21:00" — and one says Monday to Sunday, which reads as open on Sundays. The first set is current. And there is a break from three to five: seven posts give it, and a 2019 post waited for it to end at five — unchanged in seven years. Arrive at four and the door is shut.
• The jjamppong is hot — but you can ask them to adjust it. Four say so, and one draws the distinction cleanly: "I called it spicy, but it is still a good jjamppong." Another promises to brave it next time and shed a tear over it. One records that they will adjust the heat — "you can choose; I always ask for it hot." Even the pickled zhacai tastes faintly of the jjamppong, says one, sweet and salty with a little heat. If you cannot take it, say so when you order.
• No post declares sponsorship. Seven say they paid; the other twenty say nothing. But three of the thirty posts we were given were not about this restaurant — a review of the soup house next door (we appear only as "the place beside Laihong"), a review of the cold-noodle house down the parade (whose closing lines carry a table of the whole ground floor's opening hours, us included, in one line), and an official list of the district's certified restaurants (our address correct, and not a word about food). Having the right address is not the same as having been there.
• Ground floor, and not one post mentions stairs. Unit 102 on the ground floor of the IT Valley block; one writer places it "on the ground floor of a big building," another "to the left of the main entrance, easy to find," a third by the car-park entrance — straight up from the underground parking. Nobody writes about going up or down.
• Not one post mentions the lavatory. In twenty-seven posts, nothing — which means nobody wrote about it, not that there is none. Posts about other restaurants in the same block describe a shared lavatory inside the building, so this one presumably uses it too, but that is not something we have checked. Whether it is split by sex, we do not know.
