Qui va la
퀴바라 Kwibara Qui va là? is French for “Who goes there?” — the menu explains the name as a question asked quietly at the end of a Seongsu back alley, and posts render it as “Who's there?”.

Qui va la is a small French wine bar on a residential alley between Seoul Forest station and Seongsu (Seongsuil-ro 1-gil 18, behind a yellow wall). There are about four tables plus one back room, and people come for pan-seared sea bream with beurre blanc (₩28,000), Parisian gnocchi (₩20,000) and truffle mushroom pasta (₩22,000) with wine. Seventeen posts ate the sea bream, fifteen the truffle pasta, thirteen the gnocchi. You either buy wine there or bring your own for ₩20,000 a bottle. We read 30 posts from December 2024 to September 2026; 25 are records of an actual visit. Three were about other places and two were listings or itinerary suggestions, so we did not count them.

Rows without a count: 11 of 12 posts.
Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- There is one room at the back. Twelve posts mention it, including a six-person wine gathering and a four-person birthday held there; one couple booked for two and were lucky to be seated in it. It is not fully closed off: two posts note there is no door. Estimates of capacity vary between six, up to eight, and four to six.
- It is small. Eleven posts say the room is not large, and several count four tables in the main room. Seven posts call it quiet; one, from December 2024, disagrees, saying tables were close enough to hear the next table's conversation. Several mention fresh flowers on every table.
- No post mentions waiting. Three say they were the only or nearly the only guests — right after the afternoon break, at a weekday lunch, and at dinner. Nine posts booked ahead, mostly through CatchTable, and two recommend booking because there are so few tables.
- Eight posts praise the service, mostly around wine: the owner asks your budget and picks to match, opened a fresh bottle for a single glass of red, and poured a guest's own wine into two kinds of glass to compare. Two posts say one chef both cooks and serves the wine, and one says dishes were paced to the table's conversation.
3 more
- Take the subway. Five posts say it is close to Seoul Forest station on the Suin-Bundang line; one gives directions — out of exit 2, turn right, follow the alley to the yellow brick wall. Another notes it is closer to Ttukseom than Seongsu station, and closer still to Seoul Forest.
- Four posts call the prices reasonable and none call them expensive. One post gives a full bill: ₩70,000 for two people sharing the sea bream, gnocchi and truffle pasta, without wine. Dish prices were reported unchanged from December 2024 to September 2026.
- Two posts say the dishes were not heavy — one expected the butter sauce to be cloying and found it wasn't; one found the truffle mushroom pasta a little heavy. Two posts call the truffle pasta salty.

Parking
1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.
| Posts saying you cannot | 1 of 25 posts |

There seems to be no parking of its own. From experience, one post says parking is hard and you must use nearby public or paid lots, and one parked at the Seoul Forest public lot and walked. Six other posts copy “parking available” or “no parking” from info blocks, but either way they point to nearby public lots (Seoul Forest, Seongsu 1-ga 1-dong, Yuhan Tower).

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
Take the subway. Five posts say it is close to Seoul Forest station on the Suin-Bundang line; one gives directions — out of exit 2, turn right, follow the alley to the yellow brick wall. Another notes it is closer to Ttukseom than Seongsu station, and closer still to Seoul Forest.
Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 3 (of 25 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Step at the entrance | 1 of 25 posts |
| Toilet inside | 1 of 25 posts |
| Separate restrooms | yes 0 · no 1 (of 25 posts read) |
The entrance is up a flight of steps — one post says you climb stairs to the door, another that the “ground floor” is really half a level up. Three posts say it is on the ground floor, not the basement; one says “second floor”. No post mentions getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; that means nobody wrote about it, not that it's impossible.
Only one post describes the toilet: inside the restaurant, shared by men and women, clean. Another says the toilet was tidy. Nobody mentions an accessible toilet.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Corkage is not free. Eight posts brought their own wine, and every post that gives a fee says ₩20,000 per bottle. Two posts use the phrase “corkage free” while saying they paid that fee. One post thought a bottle also sold on the list wouldn't be allowed, but was let through as a year-end favour. A ₩10,000 discount in late 2024 comes from a copied CatchTable notice.
- Twelve posts list hours and eleven agree: Mon–Wed 17:00–23:00 (last order 22:30), Thu–Sat 11:30–24:00 with a 15:00–17:00 break (last order 23:30), closed Sundays. One January 2026 post gives Mon–Sat 11:30–24:00 instead. Most of these are copied info blocks. Several posts give the phone number 02-6953-0804, and most bookings were made on CatchTable.
- A Christmas tree goes up at year-end; one late-January post noted the room still looked like Christmas.
- Two visits were written up twice by the same people — a Thursday-night second round in both a weekly diary and a standalone review, and a 12th-anniversary dinner in both a baby diary and a review — so each counts twice. No post discloses sponsorship; four say they paid their own way.
