Kau Tteokbokki Seongsu
카우떡볶이 성수점 Kau is the Korean spelling of COW, which the house says stands for 'Community Of Well-being'; tteokbokki is simmered rice cakes in a spicy sauce, and Seongsu is the branch's neighbourhood.

Kau Tteokbokki Seongsu is a cook-at-the-table tteokbokki shop on the ground floor of 14 Seoulsup 2-gil, in the café lanes by Seoul Forest. It is a company-run branch of the original near Ewha Womans University. The signature is minari jjolladang, rice cakes and three kinds of noodles under a heap of minari, at 21,000 won for two. You order on a tablet at the table, simmer the pot on your own burner, add minari fritters (8,500 won), other fried bites or rice balls, and finish with rice fried in the leftover sauce (6,000 won). Two people with one side dish spend about 30,000 won. We read 30 posts from 22 June to 3 October 2026; 21 are visits to this branch, and we set aside 9 about the Ewha original.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- You order from your seat: six posts describe a tablet on every table. The kiosk-by-the-door accounts all come from the Ewha original, so we left them out.
- It is small and mostly two-seat tables. Of eight posts describing the seating, five say two-tops dominate (one counted eight), two mention both two- and four-seat tables, and one counted about seven tables. Two called it roomy and three said it is not. A parent wrote that groups of four or more would probably need tables pushed together.
- The side to know is the minari fritter. All five writers who ordered it called it crisp, and seven posts in all praised a crisp batter, fritters included. One said the batter is only a light coating, so it does not turn greasy. In the 4,500-won mixed plate, four writers singled out the king oyster mushroom.
- Opinions on portions split five to two. Five writers left full; two found it small, one of them on a day they skipped the fried rice.
7 more
- The closing fried rice is called 'self' fried rice, yet three writers say the owner came to the table and fried it for them. Two others say staff set the pot on the burner and explained how to cook it.
- Only one writer waited: around 6 pm there was one party ahead, so they wrote their name down and waited five minutes on a bench out front. Visits at weekday opening and in the late lunch hour were relaxed; a July after-work visit found every table but one taken. No one wrote about weekend waits.
- Nine posts called it clean, pointing to sanitised cups, a neatly kept self-service corner with salad, pickled radish and sauces, and a shop that still felt new.
- Five posts found the staff friendly, mentioning extra cups brought unasked and instructions on how to cook the pot.
- Unusually for a tteokbokki shop, it serves beer: one writer had a draft, and two others noted bottles such as Kona Big Wave, Kozel and Yebisu.
- Three writers described the walk: about ten minutes from Seoul Forest station (Suin-Bundang line) or exit 8 of Ttukseom station (line 2).
- On price it is one against one: one writer found it a little dearer than ordinary cook-at-table tteokbokki, another thought it good value for the amount. Menu prices were identical across posts from July to October.

Parking
1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

'No parking' appears in ten posts, but mostly in copied info boxes. One writer actually drove, found nowhere at the shop and used a nearby public car park; two posts point to the Ttukseom Yusuji public lot.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
Three writers described the walk: about ten minutes from Seoul Forest station (Suin-Bundang line) or exit 8 of Ttukseom station (line 2).
Getting inside

| Separate restrooms | 1 of 21 posts |
No visitor described the floor or any steps; we only have the address saying ground floor.
We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair gets in; nobody wrote about it, which is not the same as there being a problem. The tables are mostly small two-seaters, as noted above.
Two posts say the toilets are inside, at the back of the shop; one adds that they are separate for men and women.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Seventeen posts give the same opening hours, 11:00 to 20:30, mostly copied from listings. The day off is disputed: two say Mondays, one says the second to fourth Monday of each month, two say no day off, and the rest just say daily. The answers don't line up by date, so we can't say what changed. Check before going on a Monday. The Saturday closing and afternoon break belong to the Ewha original, not this branch.
- Seven posts list the same phone number, 0507-1308-0899. Two copied listings say reservations are possible, but nobody wrote about booking.
- The vegan option, the vegan certificate on the wall, the 'Community Of Well-being' story and the talk of good ingredients are the shop's own words, repeated almost verbatim across posts, so we don't count them as evidence. Four posts disclosed sponsorship, and several that didn't use the same sentences. None of the Seongsu posts actually ordered a vegan dish.
