Jeongseongok
정성옥 Jeongseong means sincere care or devotion, and -ok is an old suffix for a house, so the name reads roughly as 'house of care'.

Jeongseongok is a Korean restaurant attached to the Chaevi Stay EV charging station at 337 Ttukseom-ro, Seongsu. It serves one-bowl meals: Gangneung-style jjamppong soft tofu stew (10,000 won), the same with fire-seared brisket (13,000 won) and market-style sundae soup, with buckwheat dumplings, kimchi buckwheat crepes and Sokcho stuffed squid on the side. Three posts by pairs ordered the 25,000-won set for two (two mains plus a crepe and dumplings). Seven posts ordered from a tablet or kiosk at the table, and fifteen took extra rice and side dishes from the self-serve bar. We read 30 posts from June 2025 to August 2026; 20 of them describe an actual meal. We set aside three that were not about this restaurant: one about the Mapo branch, one about another shop at the same station, and a membership promotion.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Rice will not run short. Fifteen posts went back to the self-serve bar for more rice or side dishes, and one said rice, sides and the side soup are all unlimited. Several posts list the same four sides: cubed radish kimchi, white kimchi, stir-fried fish cake and pickled chili. Three January 2026 posts noted the rice in the self-serve corner is yellow turmeric rice.
- Six posts got free buckwheat dumplings for writing a receipt or photo review; one said a single review earned two large dumplings.
- Nine posts said the portions are large. One writer scooping out the sundae soup said the meat and sausage just kept coming.
- Solo diners are covered. Eleven posts described the seating: single seats at a bar counter, four-person tables and group tables for up to eight. One of the two solo diners said sitting at a four-person table never felt awkward.

This is a Seongsu restaurant where you can park. Five posts parked there; the charging lot is behind the building. One post gave a number, saying four cars can park. The same writer charged 10 kWh in the 33 minutes of the meal for 5,900 won. Several posts mention a screen inside that shows charging status while you eat.

Getting inside
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 3 (of 20 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 20 posts |
No post that visited mentioned the floor; only the address says ground floor.
No post said whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That means nobody wrote about it, not that access is fine or bad. One post noted two doors, one from the charging lot and one from the sidewalk.
The toilets are outside the restaurant. Three posts said so; one explained you go out the back door to the rear parking lot, with the door code posted on the wall inside. One post that used them said they are separate for men and women.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 7 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opening hours changed in spring 2026. Six posts from January to March 2026 gave a 10:30 opening; four of them listed a 3-5 pm break, and three said it closed at 8 pm on Sundays (one said weekends). Six posts from April 27 onward gave 11:00-22:00 daily, last order 21:20, no break. One June 2025 post had a 9:30 opening Monday to Saturday. Most of these are copied listing blocks, so check before you go.
- On getting there by subway, one post said it is close to Seoul Forest station, while another listed the 7-8 minute walk from that station as a downside. The '503 m from exit 2' line appears in several posts but is copied from the listing, so we did not count it.
- Waiting splits one to one. A post about the third week of June 2026 said they had been turned away by a queue the week before; a post from a May holiday Sunday walked straight in. No post gave a waiting time.
- Seasoning splits two to three. Two posts found it salty (the market sundae soup; the jjamppong tofu and the radish kimchi), three did not (one found the sundae soup a bit bland, one said nothing was strongly seasoned, and one writer's colleagues said the jjamppong tofu was not salty).
- Who gets the free instant coffee by the counter is unclear: three posts simply said it is there, three said it is for EV-charging customers.
- No post called it expensive, and seven said the prices are fair. A meal is 10,000-13,000 won a bowl, or 25,000 won for the set for two. The jjamppong sundae soup was 10,000 won in a March 2026 post and 11,000 won in July, and the set-meal upgrade was 2,000 won in January 2026 but 4,000 won in a post about June. One post each, so we cannot tell whether prices rose.
- Several posts list the phone number 0507-1369-6422. On reservations, one post copied a line saying Naver booking is available for groups of eight or more; no post actually booked.
- Seven posts were not counted as visits: one that only reviews the chargers without saying what was eaten, several generic-sounding praise pieces, a review summary, and two news articles reposted on Chaevi's own blog. The articles' claim that ingredients come from Gangwon province every morning is the company's own statement, so we do not rely on it.
