Io Hanugui Sukiyaki Seongsu-jeom

이오 한우구이 스키야키 성수점 Io reads as the Korean numbers two and five (the shop's Instagram handle is 25_sukiyaki_seongsu); the rest says it serves grilled hanwoo beef and sukiyaki.

A hanwoo sukiyaki house on Wangsimni-ro 10-gil in Seongdong-gu, a few minutes from exit 7 of Ttukseom Station. Sukiyaki for two with 150 g of 1++ hanwoo is 35,000 won; staff lay the beef over butter and pour the stock, then you eat, finishing with gyudon or udon (3,000 won each). On weekday lunchtimes a set bundles the finish in at the same price. We read 22 posts from 26 May to 29 September 2026, of which 15 describe a visit; we set aside three about the same-name branch in Yeonnam-dong and four that were not about this place.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff run the pot. Ten posts say a server laid in the beef or poured the stock; several describe the first slice being placed on their plate or into their egg, and the gyudon finish being made for them by snipping the leftover vegetables and stirring in egg. One post notes that after the initial setup you carry on yourselves.
  2. It is a small room. Six posts call it small or cosy. The two posts that counted tables both found six four-person tables (one specifies four on the right of the door and two on the left); another says about six tables. One post came as a group of seven without trouble; another advises booking because the room is tight.
  3. Posts describe three standard sides: pickles, seasoned pickled radish and salted squid, and many single out eating the squid on the sukiyaki. Three posts got refills, two of them before asking. One post missed having kimchi.
  4. Every post that commented on price called it fair: seven describe 35,000 won for hanwoo sukiyaki for two as good value, and none called it expensive. Two posts put the bill for two at 38,000 won with the gyudon added.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 15 posts read)

One post says the restaurant is on the ground floor; no other post mentions floors or stairs.

No post mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means we don't know, not that there is none.

No post says whether the Seongsu toilet is inside or split by gender. The one post praising toilet supplies was about the Yeonnam branch, so we left it out.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Portions split: two posts found it more filling than expected, while one regular who goes for lunch said the portions are small and she always wants more.
  • One post differs on price: seven give 35,000 won for sukiyaki for two, but a 29 September 2026 post gives 33,000 won. A 10 September post still says 35,000, so we can't tell whether the price changed. The only figure for the course is one post's 'around 63,000 won'.
  • Opening hours appear in 11 posts, mostly copied into an info block at the top. All agree on Monday–Saturday 11:00–22:00, closed Sunday. Eight give a 14:30–17:00 break and one gives 14:00–17:00; four say there is no break on Saturday. Last order is 21:00. Lunch-set hours split: weekdays 11:30–15:00 (two posts) versus 11:00–14:30 (one).
  • Seven posts walked one to three minutes from exit 7 of Ttukseom Station; one adds that Seoul Forest Station is also walkable, and one notes plenty of bus stops nearby.
  • No post reports waiting. One saw about three other tables at a weekday lunch, one found it already busy at 5:30 pm on a weekday, and one watched it fill up during an early dinner. One post booked through Naver, and two recommend booking for anything important.
  • Company varies: three posts went with friends, two with family (a sister, a husband), one at a team lunch, and the rest don't say. Many recommend it for dates, but none says they went with a partner.
  • Six posts copy the phone number 0507-1327-5964. Three say reservations go through Naver, one specifying parties of one to eight.
  • The same lines, 1++ hanwoo only, sourced directly, house-made sides from domestic ingredients, recur across posts. They are the shop's own claims or things the posts were told, so we didn't count them. Several posts share an identical info block, which suggests commissioned copy, but none discloses sponsorship.
