Hyeon Simyasikdang's Seongsu branch is a Japanese-style izakaya in a half-basement just off an alley near exit 7 of Ttukseom Station. The menu centres on hotpots such as beef tripe motsunabe (29,000 won) and sukiyaki, with small plates like stuffed shiitake fritters (18,000 won) and truffle pollock-roe potatoes (12,000 won), washed down with Sapporo draft or highballs (8,000 won) or soju (5,000 won). Copied listings say it opens at 4 p.m. We read 30 posts dated 5 May to 5 October 2026; 13 describe an actual meal. Sixteen were stamped from one promotional template and not counted, and one was about a different shop.

Rows without a count: 9 of 10 posts.
Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- It is close to the station. Ten posts said so, putting the walk from Ttukseom Station at one to three minutes. One gave directions: out of exit 7, down the alley to the right, first alley on the left. Others mentioned a standing sign that makes it easy to spot.
- Seating is a counter facing the kitchen plus tables for two to four. Nine posts described where they sat; seven of them noted both counter seats and tables. One counted about ten tables, another about six, and tables can be pushed together for up to six.
- Opinions on size split. Two posts found it roomier than expected; three said it is not large. One advised booking ahead for groups.
- A free starter of soy-braised konjac and quail eggs arrives when you sit down. Six posts mentioned it; one got two refills.
7 more
- Waits depend on timing. The two posts that arrived at the 4 p.m. opening walked straight in. One post said weekend evenings have a queue, and that you leave your party size and phone number on a board at the door and get a call. Other posts also mention the waiting board. No post recorded how long anyone waited.
- Eight posts said portions are generous, pointing to the tripe and tofu in the motsunabe, the beef in the sukiyaki and the brisket stir-fry; one said the yakisoba was a very large serving.
- Eight posts called the fried dishes crisp, mainly the stuffed shiitake fritters, the yuringi and the fried shrimp.
- Prices run 26,000-29,000 won for a hotpot, 10,000-20,000 won for small plates, and 5,000-8,000 won for a bottle of soju or a glass of beer or highball. Two meals for two added up to 55,000 won and 70,000 won. Two posts said the drink sets save roughly 4,000-10,000 won over ordering separately, and two called the prices reasonable; none said it was expensive.
- Six posts went with friends and three with a partner or spouse. Nobody wrote about going alone, though several thought the counter would suit a solo drink.
- Three posts noted baskets for bags and coat hooks at each seat.
- Four posts mentioned a review event; the reward named is a green apple highball.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station

Getting inside
| In a basement | 5 of 13 posts |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 2 of 13 posts |
It sits half below street level. Five posts described it that way, from 'half a flight down' to 'basement, but with full-height glass'. Three said the large windows keep it from feeling closed in.
No post said whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. Being half-basement, there is mention of going half a flight down, but we do not know how many steps. This means nobody wrote about it, not that there is no barrier.
Two posts said the toilet is inside the restaurant, behind a noren curtain. Nobody said whether it is split by gender.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 16 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Whether the motsunabe is spicy is disputed: one post said chilli makes it properly hot, another said it is rich rather than spicy. Posts that only mentioned a peppery finish were not counted either way.
- Opening hours come only from listing blocks copied into ten posts. Nine agree on 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays; one listed 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. every day with no closing day and no late weekend hours. No post mentioned a break time or last order.
- Many posts give the same phone number, 0507-1343-3414. Booking through Naver or CatchTable is mentioned only in copied listing blocks; no writer said they booked.
- Sixteen of the 30 posts were stamped from one template: the same story of expanding from a flagship in Achasan, the same lines about honest, friendly service and consistent taste, and no dishes or prices. Most end with a pasted Naver review-count widget. One titled itself as a visit but described no meal, and one listed dishes such as braised conch and spicy pig's trotters that appear nowhere else. None were counted.
- Of the 13 meal posts, one disclosed sponsorship, three said they paid themselves and nine said nothing. One writer noted the place is run by a friend.
