Gong Cha Seoul Forest is a bubble-tea shop on the ground floor of a main-road building, straight ahead out of exit 1 at Seoul Forest station. It is one branch of a national chain, so head office decides the drinks and the prices — which means the thing worth knowing here is not the tea but the room. It is long and unexpectedly wide, with a dozen tables for two and four, and you order at a kiosk. The toilet is at the back, there is wireless charging and there are sockets, and they lend out board games for nothing. It is the name that comes up when someone wants a seat in Seongsu without queueing for it. The posts we read span seven years, from November 2019 to August 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Five of the twelve posts were written on a day when something was cheaper — a telecom promotion (three of them), a new-year half-price event and a ₩1,900 lucky dip. A sixth went for a limited-edition drink. The telecom deals are one drink per person, so two writers describe buying a cup each on separate memberships. One points out that the discount comes off the drink and not off the pearls you add to it. What people actually paid: two writers got ₩5,800 drinks two-for-₩6,600 on a half-price day, and one paid ₩2,250 for a ₩4,500 tea. Read the rest of this page knowing that half of it was written on a cheap day — we have correspondingly little on what it feels like at full price.
- It is wider inside than it looks, and that is why people come. Six posts say so: one expected a cramped room from the street and counted a dozen tables for two and four; another, three years later, says the same in almost the same words; a third simply notes there is always somewhere to sit. There are things to do in it: two writers mention the free board games — one, who otherwise pays to sit in board-game cafés, names the game she played — one records the wireless charger and the sockets under the tables, and one spent an hour there reading. A 2019 post, though, calls the room not especially large. Whether something changed in seven years or people simply differ, we cannot say.
- The same person seems to be behind the counter for years, and the stories land in different ones. In 2021 a writer stood at the kiosk realising her coupon did not cover the drink she wanted; the owner asked what she wanted and gave it to her, large. She adds that she goes out of her way to this branch because other ones over-blend the smoothies and this one does not. In October 2025 two separate writers describe staff handling the fish-shaped biscuit for them and explaining how to eat it, and one says she named this branch's staff in the chain's own customer survey. One post is unhappy: a telecom discount would not go through at the kiosk, and the staff member she asked did not know why. She worked it out herself and wrote the steps down.

Not one post says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair can get in. Nobody describes the door or a step at it. What we can say is that this is a ground-floor shop on a main road — no post mentions stairs at all — and that six writers found the room roomy. But being on the ground floor and having a level entrance are not the same thing, and nothing is said about reaching the toilet. This is an absence of reports, not an assurance.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 13 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Sixteen of twenty-nine posts are out — more than at any other place we have read. A chain with hundreds of branches attracts three kinds of false match. Eight are nationwide promotion write-ups: the body is about a card or telecom discount, and this branch appears once, inside an alphabetical list of dozens of participating shops. Five more use the words "Seoul Forest branch" for an entirely different business — a bakery, a naengmyeon restaurant, a coffee shop, a dessert shop, a steakhouse — and a sixth is about a Gong Cha near a university across town. Two describe a real Gong Cha visit but give no way to tell which branch: one has four different branches pinned to the same post, the other has none. Putting the doubtful ones in would be worse than leaving them out. Of the thirteen that remain, one is about the pho restaurant upstairs and uses our shop only as a landmark, so it too is out of the count. That leaves twelve posts, and twelve posts here means twelve different people.
- Nobody queued outside, but four writers found the room full — and all four came on a day with something on: a new-year half-price promotion, a limited collaboration drink, and two telecom deals. The two who came on ordinary days got a seat at once. One of them, in August 2026, could hardly believe she had walked into a café in Seongsu and sat straight down; the other found it quiet on a cold day in April. A third squeezed in because so many people were taking their drinks away. On the kiosks, one post counts two and another three — and the one who counted three adds that it means less waiting to order.
- The opening hours change from year to year — five posts give five different answers. April 2023: eleven to ten, eleven to eleven at weekends. January 2024: half eleven to half ten midweek, half ten to eleven on Friday and Saturday, half ten to ten on Sunday and Monday. April 2025: ten o'clock opening, closing at ten or eleven depending on the day. Two posts from October 2025: noon to half nine on weekdays. The dates do not overlap, so this looks like real change rather than disagreement — but we have checked none of it. The 2024 writer adds that her day the shop shut at nine, she thinks because of the promotion. Check before you go. One post, from 2023, gives a phone number, with takeaway and delivery listed on the same copied line. One writer, in October 2025, actually carried a drink out.
- The toilet is at the back of the shop. Only two posts mention it: a 2019 writer was glad it was inside and notes it is shared between men and women, and a 2023 writer says simply that it is at the back. The shared-toilet detail rests on one post from 2019, and in the seven years since only one person has mentioned the toilet at all — whether it still holds, we do not know. How many cubicles, or whether there is an accessible one, nobody says.
- Not one post mentions a floor or a staircase. The address is the ground floor of a building on the main road, which suggests you walk straight in, but none of the twelve describes the door. From a post about the neighbours we know a pho restaurant sits above it, and a hair clinic above that.
- Trust the drinks section here less than you would elsewhere. Head office decides what is sold and what it costs, and it changes with the season; what we have is what twelve people drank across seven years. Nearly half of it was a limited edition — the fish-cake series, the Dubai crush, the game collaboration, the reduced-sugar chocolate — and most of those are gone. The prices tell the same story: ₩3,500 for an Earl Grey in 2019, ₩4,400 for a large black milk tea with pearls in 2023, ₩4,500 for the base drink in 2024, ₩5,800 for the brown sugar in 2025, ₩6,300 for the Dubai crush in 2026. The direction is clear enough, but no two posts price the same drink in different years, so we cannot say by how much. What people did repeat about this branch was the seating, the foam and the pearls.
