Eunjun Ssalguksu

은준쌀국수 Ssalguksu is the Korean word for rice-noodle soup, the name used for Vietnamese pho; none of the posts explains Eunjun.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Vietnamese noodle shop on the second floor of an old building on Wangsimni-ro 5-gil, between Seoul Forest and Ttukseom stations. You order at a kiosk by the door, then sit. The menu centers on bun cha, beef pho and seafood stir-fried noodles; from May 2026 the posts give 14,000 won for bun cha and the stir-fried noodles and 11,000 won for beef pho (13,000 and 10,000 before that). We read 30 posts from July 6, 2025 to October 1, 2026; 29 describe actually eating there.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Nineteen posts said the portions are large. For the bun cha in particular, they described pork covering the noodles entirely and seeming never to run out. One post was mixed: the regular pho felt too small, but the large was too much and some was left.
  2. Ordering is by machine: 14 posts said you order at the kiosk first, one describing it as a tablet. One post advised checking the kiosk as well as the paper menu, since some items appear only there.
  3. Six posts mentioned a separate room-like area at the back. Tables are mostly for two, and groups push them together; one post describes a lunch outing for seven.
  4. Six posts called the staff kind, with specifics: coriander handed over readily when asked, and staff topping up pickled onions and radish as they passed tables.

Parking

Posts saying you cannot2 of 25 posts

Parking appears not to be available. Two posts said so in their own words and pointed to nearby public lots. Five more carry a copied 'no parking' line, which we didn't count; one of them lists a phone number for parking inquiries instead.

Getting inside

Second floor12 of 25 posts
Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 25 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 25 posts

You climb stairs to the second floor; 12 posts mentioned it. One noted the stairs are a bit steep and there is no elevator, which makes strollers or heavy bags awkward.

No post describes entering with a wheelchair or stroller. One said it's stairs to the second floor with no elevator. Nobody mentioned a step at the door — that means we don't know, not that there isn't one.

One post said the toilet is inside the restaurant and feels like one in a private home; another said only that the toilet was a bit off-putting, without saying why. Nobody mentioned whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices went up. Posts from September 2025 to March 2026 give bun cha 13,000, beef pho 10,000 and seafood noodles 13,000 won; from April 2026 pho is 11,000 (one post says 12,000), and from May bun cha and the noodles are 14,000. Eleven posts still called it good value; one said it runs about 3,000 won above other places.
  • Waiting depends on the hour. One post said a wait is standard at lunch; four said they didn't wait, all visiting at off-peak times like early lunch, after 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. Three only said peak hours might mean a line. No post gives a wait time at the lunch peak.
  • Posts split four to four on size: four called it spacious, four said it isn't large. Several noted the front looks small but the room runs deep, so impressions may depend on where people sat.
  • Opening hours vary by post. Nine give a 9 p.m. close and four give 7 p.m., mostly in copied info lines; the 7 p.m. posts cluster between November 2025 and early May 2026, and one says it went at lunch because of the 7 p.m. close. Eleven say closed Sundays; one says open daily, until 6 p.m. on Sundays. Three say there is no afternoon break, two of them having visited mid-afternoon. Check the closing time before you go.
  • Three posts list the phone number 02-499-1009. Reservations are unclear: one copied line says only fresh spring-roll orders can be booked, another says booking and takeout are possible, a third says no reservations — call to confirm. One post said that for takeout you should bring your own container.
  • Of the 30 posts, eight say they paid their own way and the rest say nothing. Four repeat search phrases like 'restaurant near Seoul Forest' paragraph after paragraph and may be promotional, but none discloses sponsorship, so we counted them as written.
