Daemul Hoepocha is a sashimi house on the second floor of a building in the eating alley three minutes from exit 7 at Ttukseom. Aged seasonal fish and shellfish arrive on one large tray, with a grilled fish, a roe salad, salted rice and a small hot pot alongside. The windows open wide enough that an indoor room feels like a street stall — seven posts say so. A large screen at one end carries the baseball (seven posts), and with about forty seats the room fills with work dinners and parties. Drink arrives in an ice bucket and you pay for what you drink. It runs until one in the morning and closes on Sundays. Lunch service began in March 2026. We read posts from 22 February to 21 September 2026.

  **The signature, priced by headcount**: 49,000 won for two, 69,000 for three, 89,000 for four. **It is not only sashimi**: the tray comes with a grilled fish, a flying-fish-roe salad, salted rice, a small hot pot and sauces — six writers list it and the lists match. **The fish changes with the day**: between them they record flounder, salmon, mullet, pomfret, yellowtail and mackerel. **They disagree about the quantity**: one thinks the large is thin for four, another that two good eaters could finish it. Two single out the grilled flatfish that comes with it, and two were shown how to wrap the fish in seaweed with the rice.

  **Drink comes in an ice bucket and you pay for what you drink** — five posts describe it, one noting they were given more than they ordered and finished it anyway. Soju 5,500 won, beer 6,000, which one writer calls cheap for Seongsu. **Corkage is allowed for a fee**: one writer paid 10,000 won a bottle, and another came specifically because it was a sashimi place that permits it.

One notes that the kitchen served the complimentary tofu without its dressing because she had a baby with her.

  **55,000 won for two in the evening, 75,000 for four — and 13,900 at lunch**, nearly four times less for the same name. The evening version comes with slushy broth, seasonal sashimi, beef tartare, shellfish and noodles; adding more tartare is 12,000. One writer found the noodle portion alone enough for three. **One warns about the seasoning**: she liked how sharp it was, her boss and a colleague did not.

  **Lunch service began in March and eight posts mention it**: weekdays from eleven to half two, with one writer recording the prices — rice bowl 10,900 won, mulhoe 13,900, pollack stew 10,000, grilled mackerel 12,000. **Only one of them actually ate lunch here.** The other seven read the board outside and said they would come back for it, which we have not counted.

Parking

The parking accounts conflict, and nobody seems to have parked. The common version is that there is none and you use the Seongdong sports centre car park (five posts), two of them pricing it at 700 won per ten minutes, 4,200 an hour, three to five minutes' walk. One post says there is free parking on the ground floor of the building if a space is open, and two others carry a bare "parking available" line — one of which the same writer contradicts a paragraph later, saying she had to use the public car park. The priced accounts are the more careful ones, but whether a space exists downstairs you will have to see for yourself.

Getting inside

Not one of the twenty-nine says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair gets in. The words do not appear. Two do mention a lift, which matters for a second-floor room, and one of them used it. Where the lift is, whether there is a step at the door, what the toilets are like — nobody writes it down. Three carry a copied line about separate toilets beside the restaurant; none reports using them. The one writer who came with a baby describes the kitchen leaving the dressing off her tofu and says nothing about getting upstairs. This is "nobody wrote it down", not "you cannot get in".

• It is upstairs, and people open the wrong door. Twenty posts place it on the second floor, and one leaves a genuinely useful warning: the door facing you at the top of the stairs is another business — she walked in and backed out again — and the restaurant is through the smaller door to the side. There is a lift: two writers mention it, one taking it rather than the stairs on a hot day. A board at street level makes it findable (six posts), one writer praising the day's specials chalked up before you climb. Two admit the second floor is easy to walk past — and both say the open windows gave it away.
• No post declares a sponsorship. One states she paid her own way; the other twenty-eight say nothing either way. Twenty-nine posts are not twenty-nine people: one blogger wrote twice, in March and May, the second time opening with "good enough last time to come back" — so twenty-eight. One of the thirty is behind nothing here, a bakery post that names us only in a list of the writer's other entries. The posts spread evenly across eight months, which is how the March change of hours became visible.
