What sets it apart
- As many posts describe the room as describe the ice cream. The barbershop sign and chair, the neon, the tiling — the same two words recur, hip and kitsch. One writer was told the owner actually runs a barbershop; another found an explanation of the name posted by the kiosk. Several photograph themselves in the barber's chair outside.
- An unusual number of posts say they came across it by accident. It sits half below ground down a side street and is hard to see from outside; the same story recurs of finishing a meal nearby, noticing people carrying ice cream, and following them in. It reads as a place people meet rather than seek.
- The list of flavours differs post to post. Five say it is made each morning, and one notes the line-up moves with the season and what is available. The 2023 posts name watermelon, plum, vanilla and tiramisu; the 2024 ones tomato, salted peanut caramel and watermelon-lime sorbet; a 2025 one matcha. No one says whether you can get in with a wheelchair. It is one floor below ground and several describe going down steps; not one mentions a lift or a ramp. Two posts place the toilet inside the shop and say it is split by gender, though one calls it very small. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. What we do not know
- Opening hours and the closing day disagree, and in date order they look like changes rather than errors. Posts from 2023 say it opens at 11:30 and closes on Sundays; from 2024 on they say noon and Mondays. The afternoon break appears as none, as three to four, and as four to half past five. Several note a later start on Sundays. We did not confirm any of it with the shop, so check before you go.
- Many posts say there is little room to sit. One counts three chairs, another two tables for two; one found the table low and cramped. Most describe taking it away and walking towards Seoul Forest. One writer reports a one-order-per-person rule for eating in. One post, against the rest, found plenty of seats.
- Not one post discloses sponsorship. Six say they paid for themselves; the other ten say nothing either way, and saying nothing is not the same as taking nothing.
- The price went up. Posts from 2023 through 2024 record ₩4,500 for one flavour and ₩5,500 for two; a 2026 post records ₩5,000 for one. The figure shown here is the one most posts give, and we did not confirm it with the shop.
- One post says the machine is started after you order. That writer waited longer than expected and found the texture less dense for it; five others praise the daily making. Not one post describes queuing — which does not mean there is no wait, only that no one wrote about it.
- These posts were first filed under another shop's name. A different restaurant is registered on the ground floor of the same building, and our address matching could not tell the floors apart. We reread all sixteen and moved them only after confirming that the titles, the text and the map links all point here.
