Mikawa

야끼토리 미카와 Yakkitori Mikawa Yakitori is Japanese for grilled chicken skewers; Mikawa is a Japanese name, and none of the posts say why the house chose it.

Yakitori Mikawa is a chicken-skewer bar in a basement on Wausan-ro 29ma-gil, near Hongik University Station; one post says it opened in spring 2026. Order a skewer set and the skewers come out one or two at a time rather than all at once. The April 2026 menu lists the eight-skewer set at 24,000 won, the deluxe set (ten skewers plus beef tataki) at 35,000 won and yakisoba at 9,500 won. We read 13 posts dated 3 April to 15 September 2026; 10 describe an actual visit. The other three are one entry in a date-course list, an owner interview written by a marketing app, and a diary line naming the place.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There are both counter seats and tables. Of the six posts that describe seating, five mention both. One describes a counter and two tables at the entrance with about four more tables around the corner; another counts four counter seats. One post found the room cramped.
  2. Post a receipt review and you get an extra dish. Five posts mention the review event, and what they got varied: house dumplings, cheese crackers, yakisoba, beef noodle soup. One says you choose among mapo tofu, beef noodles and yakisoba; one says it requires spending at least 40,000 won.
  3. Opinions differ on the paced service. One post found the gaps between skewers too long; others liked that each skewer arrived hot.
  4. Three posts found it quiet enough to talk; one noted that even with people at the next table it did not feel noisy.

  1. Beans come free when you sit down; two posts mention it, one calling them edamame in a glass bowl.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

In a basement4 of 10 posts
Toilet inside2 of 10 posts

It is below street level. Four posts say so, two of them mentioning the stairs down (an orange wooden staircase leading to a narrow entrance). One post adds that it feels more like a half-basement, with windows.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. Four posts describe it as a basement, and none mentions a lift.

Two posts say the toilet is inside the shop, one calling it clean. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in a copied info block, so we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 13 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post describes walking from the station. One post's info block says three minutes from Exit 7 of Hongik University Station, which we treat as copied information.
  • No post mentions waiting for a table. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait; one post visiting after work on a Friday found it already fairly busy.
  • All opening hours are copied from listings. Three posts from April-May 2026 give 16:00-24:00 daily (last order 23:00); a September post, citing a 13 September search, gives 17:00-24:30. The hours appear to have changed in between; no post mentions a closing day.
  • Some prices rose between April and May 2026: whisky sour from 6,500 to 7,000 won, cuttlefish sashimi from 15,000 to 17,000 won. Posts after May give no prices, so we do not know current ones. A set alone is 24,000-35,000 won before drinks; one post joked that heavy extra ordering ran up a big bill.
  • The phone number, 0507-1304-9209, appears only in one post's copied info block. Two posts copy that reservations can be made via Naver; none describes booking.
  • We did not count the two posts from the DatePop blog: one is an owner interview that states the shop partners with DatePop for promotional content, the other a date-course list from the same blog that appears to be that content.
  • Three posts say the owner previously ran a place in Cheongju (the interview mentions about eight years, and a diary names a shop called Moeru) — all second-hand, so we did not count it.
