A converted old house down an alley off Yanghwa-ro 8-gil, a 3–5 minute walk from Hapjeong Station exits 4 and 5. There is seating in a basement, on two indoor floors, in the front yard and on a second-floor terrace; you order at the ground-floor counter and carry your own tray. An americano is 5,500 won with a choice of three beans (decaf 5,800), every eclair is 5,800 won and the Basque cheesecake 7,800. We read 30 posts dated 28 February to 6 October 2026; 28 describe an actual visit. Ten went with friends, five as a couple, three in a group and one alone.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. A golden retriever lives at the café — fifteen posts mention it, some by name (Hodu). One describes it doing the rounds of the tables looking for attention; another says it wanted nothing to do with him. Two posts say they asked staff before petting it.
  2. Where you sit is the point here: twenty posts describe the yard or second-floor terrace seating and eighteen mention the upstairs. One weekday-evening visit in August 2026 found the upstairs terrace filled first; several summer visitors stayed indoors because of the heat.
  3. It's close to the subway: thirteen posts walked from Hapjeong Station, most giving about three minutes from exit 4 and five from exit 5.
  4. Both posts that ordered the matcha latte found it small — gone in a few sips — and three call the eclairs small. One post, though, was surprised how big the drinks were, so opinions on drink size are split.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 28 posts

One post says, from experience, the café has no parking of its own. Several point to a nearby public car park, but mostly in copied info blocks; no one describes actually parking there.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

It's close to the subway: thirteen posts walked from Hapjeong Station, most giving about three minutes from exit 4 and five from exit 5.

Seven posts mention the basement room. The two who went down say the ceiling is very low — one calls it an old rented room a tall person can't stand in; another's tall boyfriend had to stoop. It holds two to four tables and has street-level windows. Two posts say the ground and upper floors, by contrast, have high ceilings.

We know little about step-free access. One post notes lots of stairs and that a wheelchair would struggle, and several mention climbing stairs to the upper floor and down to the basement. No one wrote about a step at the entrance, a ramp or a lift — that means nobody mentioned them, not that they don't exist.

Five posts say the toilets are inside the café; three specify that they are split by floor — women's on the ground floor, men's upstairs. Several call them clean.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two posts say a time limit applies when the café is full; one puts it at two hours on weekends. One also notes staff will come over if you hold a table with your bags.
  • No post reports queuing. Five say they walked straight in — though one, on a weekend at 6 pm, found the ground floor full and the upstairs nearly so. One post warns seats can run out on weekend afternoons between 2 and 5.
  • Don't count on the eclairs: four posts hit a day when they were limited — the pastry chef had hurt a hand, they were sold out, only tiramisu was left late in the evening, or they got the day's last pecan one.
  • On price, three posts call it on the expensive side (the fig tart, the eclair size, the overall level) and one calls it average for Hongdae. Drinks mostly run 5,500–8,000 won, desserts 5,800–10,800.
  • All seventeen posts that give opening hours agree: daily 12:00–23:00, last order 22:30. Most copied it from an info block, though, and the only word on closing days is one copied 'open every day'.
  • Six posts list the phone number as 0507-1321-1211. None says whether the café takes reservations.
