White Rabbit

화이트래빗 Hwaiteu Raebit White Rabbit, after the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland — one diner was told the owner loves rabbits and built the place around an Alice theme, and rabbit figures fill the rooms.

Compiled from 18 blog posts read in fullSources →

White Rabbit is a Western-style bistro down a side street off the Gyeongui Line Forest Park near Hongik University Station, next to the Sanullim Theatre. You now eat on the second floor — the ground floor is a display space of rabbit figures and paintings, and posts mention a wine bar and event space in the basement. Pastas run 18,000–23,000 won, mains such as salmon steak, pork bourguignon and crispy basil chicken 22,000–26,000 won, and the honey pork ribs 36,000 won; one couple's pasta-plus-main came to 54,000 won. We read 22 posts from February 2025 to October 2026; 19 describe actually eating here, 17 of them from July 2026 on. A December 2025 post ate on the ground floor, unlike the current second-floor setup.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Portions split evenly — three posts found them generous, three found them small. One said the rockfish was bigger than expected and that a pasta plus the ribs filled two people; others said the portion felt a little small, that the mains are modest enough to justify a side, and that the chicken seemed skimpy.
  2. One post saw a note on the first page of the menu asking each diner to order a drink in the evening. Another, visiting at lunch, said the dishes at the front of the menu were dinner-only.
  3. Four posts booked ahead — via Naver TalkTalk, CatchTable or a few days in advance — and found their table already set.
  4. Three posts called the staff kind — one was handed an umbrella when it started raining on the way out, another got a detailed walk-through of the menu. One post noted a foreign server and that every other table was foreign visitors.

  1. No one found the food salty; three posts said the opposite, notably that the bolognese ragù was mild.

Getting inside

Second floor11 of 18 posts
Lift to the floor8 of 18 posts
Toilet inside1 of 18 posts

Seating is on the second floor. Eleven posts from July 2026 on went up to eat there; one mentions a sign on the ground floor sending guests upstairs and another says the ground floor is no longer in service. A December 2025 post ate on the ground floor, so those seats seem to have gone in between.

Posts mention a basement wine bar and a 'Rabbit Hole' event room, but none ate down there; we don't know whether it is open on ordinary days.

The building has a lift: eight posts rode it to the second floor, and one took the stairs, which are lined with framed pictures.

No post mentions a step at the entrance, a ramp, or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. Several mention the lift, but that is not the same as a step-free entrance — nobody said.

One post said the toilet is inside and clean; another said it is in the basement, reached by stairs. Whether diners on the second floor must go down to the basement is unclear.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 20 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post mentions waiting for a table. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait.
  • Corkage is unclear: a July 2026 post said it was free, while an August post's info block says corkage is allowed for a fee. Ask the restaurant.
  • Opening hours have shifted. July 2026 posts give Wednesday–Sunday 11:30–21:30 with a 15:00–16:00 break; late-August and September posts give 16:00 opening Wednesday–Friday, 11:30 at weekends, closing 22:30, with a 15:00–17:00 weekend break and 21:30 last orders. Most list Monday and Tuesday as closed, but two posts from early September and October say only Monday, and the October one gives 23:00 closing on Friday and Saturday. All copied from listings — check before going.
  • Prices are as of August–September 2026. Most posts give 26,000 won for the pork bourguignon, though one copying a menu photo shows 25,000. No one called it expensive; one said it was reasonable for Hongdae. One post describes a discounted voucher through the DatePop app, and others saw a receipt-review event and a badge handed out for reviews.
  • Eight posts list the same phone number, 0507-1313-5610. Bookings were made through Naver Booking, Naver TalkTalk and CatchTable.
  • Posts cluster in July–September 2026, and five carry the identical set of five Hongdae hashtags. Two disclose sponsorship, one says the writer paid, and the rest say nothing — read the praise with that in mind.
