Dining NEUL

다이닝늘 홍대점 Daining Neul Hongdae-jeom Neul is the Korean word for 'always'; the posts do not explain the name.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

Dining NEUL sits on the sixth floor of a building on Tojeong-ro in Sangsu-dong, serving Western set courses with a view down onto the Han River. Lunch is 35,000 won; dinner courses are listed at 75,000 (A), 95,000 (B), 130,000 (C) and 195,000 won (D), the same in March 2025 and in 2026 posts, and there is à la carte pasta (carbonara 20,000). We read 30 posts dated January 28, 2025 to October 5, 2026; 29 describe a visit, one is a list of fireworks-view restaurants. Most are birthdays, anniversaries or proposals, and post after post mentions the message left at booking reappearing on the table card and the dessert plate.

Rows without a count: 10 of 14 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Nineteen posts went with a partner or spouse. Three were proposals; in one, the tiramisu read 'Will you marry me?' and the server set it in front of the wrong person. A few posts went with friends instead.
  2. Twelve posts describe the floor-to-ceiling glass and light, and nearly all talk about window seats. Catchtable sells 'window' and 'second-row window' seats separately, and one post warns the second row's view is blocked by the table in front. Two sunset diners mention glare (easing after about half an hour) and heat from the sun; one diner's seat faced a window frame so only her companion saw the night view, and another says to avoid seats beside a pillar.
  3. Twenty-three posts booked ahead, at lead times of about two months, three weeks (twice) and two weeks. The course is chosen at booking, and the note left then is printed on the table card and written on the dessert. One group booked the second row and was moved to a cancelled window table after the staff read their memo.
  4. No post describes a queue. Three found it quiet: two at lunch (one walked in without booking and found plenty of room) and one at 7 pm on a Tuesday. Another found every window table taken at 7:30 on a weekday evening.
2 more
  1. Nine posts call the staff kind, usually alongside candles on a birthday dessert and photos taken against the river. In one, a server distracted the boyfriend with dessert while another slipped a pre-delivered gift under the writer's seat. One post noted the dishes were not explained.
  2. Four posts brought their own wine. Booking through Catchtable gives a free-corkage coupon; a March 2025 post described it as a March-only promotion. Chilling is disputed: one September 2026 post says the bottle was chilled perfectly, another from earlier that month says chilling was not included. Several mention a pen for decorating the glasses.

Posts saying you can park1 of 28 posts

Only one post parked and wrote about it: they parked themselves in the building lot yet were charged a 5,000-won valet fee, and questioned why. The fee tables in other posts (3,000 won for the first 120 minutes; valet 3,000 or 5,000 for large cars; free self-parking at the red-booth lot outside valet hours) are copied and not counted.

Getting inside

Separate restrooms5 of 28 posts

Nine posts rode the elevator to the sixth floor. One says the lift itself has a window view; another found it cramped and hot. Several mention a giant teddy bear and a wine display at the entrance.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That is unknown, not a no.

Posts disagree on where the toilets are: one says inside the restaurant, one says to the left of the entrance right off the elevator, one just says the same floor. Several mention separate men's and women's rooms, and many describe hair irons, a Dyson dryer, sanitary pads and mouthwash laid out.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Five posts found it an easy walk from Sangsu Station, one said it is a place you have to drive to, and three said the walk is long, the station is far, or the building was hard to find. Stated times from Sangsu exit 3 range from 5 to 15 minutes; Gwangheungchang exit 6 is also walkable.
  • Portions divide posts: four found them large (full after the lunch chop steak, unable to finish the beef salad), five found them small. Both sides remark that the pasta looks tiny on its oversized plate.
  • Five posts say the food is fine but secondary to the view, describing it as decent rather than memorable; two of them said they would not return.
  • Eight posts found the prices reasonable, two found them high, one saying 100,000 won felt a bit much for the food alone. A meal runs 35,000 won at lunch and from 75,000 at dinner, with wine, corkage and flowers (one post paid 40,000 for a bouquet) extra.
  • Pacing is disputed: one post found the table unready and the first course 15 to 20 minutes late, with long gaps after; two found service quick. Another got the bread after the meal.
  • Fourteen posts list hours, all copied: nine give 11:30–22:30 Sunday to Thursday and to 23:30 Friday and Saturday, two give 22:30 daily, one gives 23:30 on Fridays only and omits Monday, one says it opens at 11:00. All agree on a 15:00–17:00 break; last order is mostly 20:30 (21:30 Fri–Sat). No post names a closing day. One mentions two dinner seatings, the first at 17:30.
  • Course B's main changed: posts from August 2025 to May 2026 name striploin, September 2026 posts name tenderloin. The two starters and the 95,000-won price stayed the same.
  • Eleven posts give the phone number 0507-1379-9803. Bookings go through Catchtable or Naver, and several posts relay that window seats are assigned in booking order, best seats first.
