OJ

오지 Oji Oji is spelled like the Korean word for a remote backcountry place, and the sign abbreviates it as OJ; no post explains what the owner meant by it.

A wine bar in a basement off Sanggye-ro 1-gil, near Nowon Station, serving wine and whisky with pasta, duck steak and cheese plates. We read 6 posts from January 2025 to April 2026; one was unrelated and set aside. Four describe an actual visit, all evening drinks, and three of those were groups (a year-end office party, a wine-tasting club, a party of six). Where prices were given: cheese plate 17,900 won, melon and jamón 14,900 won, bottles at 60,000 and 105,000 won. With only four visits, the counts below are small.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. It is not bar seating only. Three visits mention tables besides the bar: a six-seat group table right by the door and a four-seat area further in. One post called the inner space a four-person room; another said it was not a full room but set apart enough from neighbouring tables.
  2. One post from February 2025 says tables must order at least one bottle. That party of six ordered two bottles (105,000 and 60,000 won) plus two plates and paid close to 200,000 won. No other post mentions the rule, so we don't know if it still applies.
  3. A wine-club post brought in delivery food but warns that outside food is not normally allowed; their group was a special exception.
  4. Two visits booked ahead through Naver, for three and for six people. One noted a 30,000-won deposit, deducted from the bill.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

In a basement1 of 4 posts

One post says the bar is underground, but nobody says whether you reach it by stairs or lift, or whether there is a step at the door. We don't know if a wheelchair or pushchair can get in.

No post says whether the toilet is inside the bar or whether it is split by gender. That means unknown, not absent.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 5 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two posts called it good value; one, after paying nearly 200,000 won for six, said they put it down to paying for the atmosphere, without a verdict. No post gives a per-person cost.
  • Nobody wrote about waiting; every visit was booked or part of an arranged gathering. We don't know how easy it is to walk in.
  • Several titles pitch it as a date spot, but no post says the writer went as a couple. We know nothing about going alone or as two.
  • Only one post covers getting there, saying it is walkable from Nowon Station; distances like '124 m from exit 9' come from copied listing blocks.
  • All three posts that list opening hours copied them from a listing, and they disagree: February 2025 gives 18:00–01:00 Tue/Wed/Sun and 18:00–02:00 Thu–Sat; December 2025 gives 19:00–02:00 Tue–Thu, 18:00–03:00 Fri–Sat, 18:00–01:00 Sun. All three agree it is closed on Mondays.
  • Two posts give the same phone number, 0507-1354-6921; bookings are said to go through Naver Booking and Catchtable.
  • A January 2025 post is a promotional write-up using photos supplied by the bar, so we did not count it; its figures, such as 20,000-won corkage and glasses from 9,000 won, are not treated as evidence.
