FALBALAS
팔발라 Palballa Falbalas is French for the flounces or frills sewn onto a dress; one post notes it is also the title of Jacques Becker's 1945 film set in a Paris couture house.

A French bistro in a red two-storey building at 61 Samcheong-ro, next to Gallery Jinsun at the mouth of Samcheong-dong. The ground floor holds wine shelves, the counter and the kitchen, with an outdoor terrace under the ginkgo trees out front; upstairs is a glass-walled, greenhouse-like room. The dishes ordered most were the duck leg confit (35,000 won, eleven posts), carbonara (23,000 won, eleven posts) and onion soup (15,000 won, ten posts). Pastas run 23,000–28,000 won and mains 35,000–65,000 won. We read 30 posts from December 2024 to October 2026; 28 of them describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Seventeen posts mention the terrace. In spring and autumn you eat looking at the ginkgo trees out front; a December 2024 post says windbreak panels went up in winter and they sat outside anyway. One writer learned terrace seats can't be requested even with a booking, so she booked the first weekend slot to get first pick. Two posts found the terrace already full.
- Of thirteen posts that talk about portions, ten say they are small and none say they are large. A party of seven joked they should have had gukbap first and ordered another bourguignon and carbonara. One couple said three plates between two left them full.
- Five posts call it expensive. A March 2026 post says pasta, confit and octopus for two came to over 80,000 won. A November 2025 post found it pricey and small and won't return. Another writer said that, for the food and the room, it wasn't a waste.
- Twelve posts booked ahead, mostly through CatchTable. On deposits they differ: an October 2026 post paid 10,000 won per person, forfeited for no-shows or same-day cancellation, while an April 2026 post says there was no deposit.
3 more
- One post (April 2026, a party of seven) says dinner requires one bottle of wine per table; they ordered a 59,000-won Zinfandel. Another repeats it as hearsay. Nine posts mention drinking wine.
- Ten posts went with friends and three in larger groups — coworkers, a year-end party of six, a family of seven. One couple went for their 1,000th day, and one writer drove in with her dog.
- Two posts saw dogs firsthand: three dogs in hanbok in strollers at the next terrace table, and a writer who sat outside with her chihuahua. The rule that dogs need a bag or stroller to go upstairs is copied from the listing.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 15 of 27 posts |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 1 of 27 posts |
Fifteen posts describe the upper floor, and twelve mention the windows and daylight — the glass room looks straight into the ginkgo trees. One post notes the stairs up are narrow, steep and black. Posts from April 2025 and May 2026 found the glass room hot.
Nobody mentions a basement. The posts describe two floors; three say the ground floor inside is mostly counter, wine shelves and kitchen, with few seats.
No post mentions an entrance step, wheelchair access or a lift — not that there is none, just that nobody wrote about it. One post only warns that the stairs are steep, so older guests and strollers are better off downstairs.
One post says the restroom is inside and clean; another copies the same from the listing. Nobody says whether it is split by gender or how big it is.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No sign of a move or a name change. One price changed: carbonara was 21,000 won in a December 2024 post and 23,000 won in posts from March 2026.
- Three posts say it is a 10–15 minute walk from Anguk Station; one notes you have to walk a fair way. Nobody mentions buses.
- No post describes queuing. Three say there was no wait — a weekday morning, an empty weekday afternoon, a weekend in 2022. Twelve booked instead, and one weekend visitor found no seats even arriving at opening.
- Opinions on speed split: one post found the food slow, two said it came quickly.
- All opening hours are copied from listings. Nine posts give 11:30–22:00 Monday to Saturday and 11:30–20:00 on Sunday; fourteen give a 15:30–17:00 break. Eight list last orders at 20:00 and four list 18:00 on Sunday. One June 2026 post has a 16:00–17:00 break and 20:30 last orders, and one November 2025 post has an 11:00 opening. Only one post says there are no closing days.
- Two phone numbers appear: ten posts give 0507-1361-8898 and four give 02-723-8885. Bookings are taken through CatchTable or by phone; one post says groups of five or more must call.
- Few posts give a total bill: one pair paid over 80,000 won for three plates, and a December 2024 pair paid 36,000 won for carbonara and onion soup. Two posts say bottles of wine start around 60,000 won.
