Mokmyeoksanbang's main branch is a bibimbap house in a red-brick building at Toegye-ro 20-gil 71, up the slope from Myeongdong station toward Namsan. Rice comes in a brass bowl with the namul on the side; you order at a kiosk and fetch your tray when the buzzer goes. In 2026 the plain sanbang bibimbap was 10,000 won, bulgogi 13,500 and beef tartare 15,500, and many diners added a pancake. The restaurant began in a hanok on Namsan in 2009 and moved here around 2018-2019; the old hanok now houses a separate Namsan Tower branch. What sets it apart
- Ordering is by kiosk: seven posts said so, and you collect your food at the buzzer and bus your own tray. One diner who came in 2021 and again in 2022 noticed the switch — the first time they paid at a counter by the door, seventeen months later it was a kiosk. One post adds that staff at the pickup counter will take your order if the kiosk defeats you.
- The bibimbap is lightly seasoned: five posts said the flavour was gentle, not salty. Gochujang sits on every table and several posts added more. A 2021 visitor wrote that the first spoonfuls taste bland until the namul flavours come through.
- Most tables add a pancake: five posts described the seafood-chive pancake or the cheese kimchi pancake as crisp. The seafood pancake appears in all four posts that ordered it, at 14,000 won in October 2026; one post says the cheese kimchi version comes cut like a pizza on a brass tray.
- A line forms around lunch. Two posts waited or saw a queue: one arrived around noon, waited about ten minutes, and found the line running outside when they left; another walked straight in just after 11 a.m. but met a long queue on the way out after 12. Three posts mention booking through Naver, one quoting the booking page saying only some seats can be reserved.

Getting inside
No diner described which floor the dining room is on or whether there are stairs; the '1st floor' in the address is a registered value.
No one said whether there is a step at the door or whether they got in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post's 'wheelchair accessible toilet, entrance and seating' is copied from a facilities list, so we did not rely on it. The approach is uphill.
No diner described the toilets — inside or out, shared or separate. 'Separate men's and women's toilets' appears only in one copied facilities list.

What we do not know
- There are two Mokmyeoksanbang restaurants within 500 m — this main branch in a red-brick building and the Namsan Tower branch in the old hanok — and many posts blur them. Hanok rooms, the outdoor courtyard, traditional music and the no-alcohol rule come from Tower-branch posts and are left off this page; one post says this branch sells makgeolli and soju by the glass.
- Prices have risen: bulgogi bibimbap went from 10,000 won in June 2021 to 11,000 in November 2022 and 13,500 in October 2026. The 2021 writer called it cheap for a Michelin-listed place, but that verdict predates the increases.
- Four 2026 posts gave the same hours, 11:00 to 20:00, and four gave last orders at 19:20; one alone put closing at 22:00. Records from 2021-2022 showed 11:00-20:30 with a 15:00-16:30 break, but no recent post mentions a break — which means nobody wrote one down, not that there isn't one. All of these times were copied from info blocks.
- Five posts list the phone number 02-318-4790. Booking is contested: three diners mention Naver reservations, while one promotional post says neither advance booking nor phone calls are possible and another post's info block says no reservations. No one reported booking by phone.
- Company is mixed: two posts came as a couple, one with a friend, two by car. No post about this branch mentions eating alone.
- More than ten posts across both branches repeat the same phrases in the same order — soy sauce aged in crocks, cold-pressed sesame oil, Samgwang rice, a 2009 start in a hanok, 500 m between branches. None discloses sponsorship, but they read like one press kit, so we treated the ingredient claims and Michelin history as the restaurant's own copy and did not count them.
