MODAM
모담 서울역점 Modam Seoul-yeok-jeom Modam reads as a contraction of 'modu damda', to hold it all — the house's own line, quoted in one post, is that it holds everything of Korean food.

A Korean set-meal restaurant on the third basement level of Grand Central, right by Exit 4 of Seoul Station. You pick one main and the rest arrives in courses — porridge, salads, ceviche, perilla-oil capellini, fried mushroom gangjeong, rice and soup, dessert. Weekday-lunch pot-rice sets are 22,900 won; regular sets run 27,000–38,000 won at weekday lunch and 32,000–43,000 won for the same sets in the evening and at weekends. Separate courses cost 55,000 won (betrothal set) and 75,000 won (surasang). It has many private rooms, and 8 posts went there for a betrothal meeting. We read 26 posts from December 2025 to October 2026; 19 record an actual meal, and 2 were about other branches (Itaewon, Gimpo) and were set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- 15 of the 19 visit posts mention the private rooms. Several describe 8-seat rooms, and one counts rooms R1 to R7 along a corridor. They are not roomy: two posts call the rooms cramped, singling out the 6-seat ones. Book as a betrothal meeting and, several posts say, a pair of wooden mandarin ducks is set out and the couple's names are printed on the menu. Four posts note that the hall tables are screened off by partitions too.
- Tables are time-limited: all 3 posts that mention it say 90 minutes. A December 2025 post found that far too short for a group dinner; a Sunday-evening party was allowed to stay a little longer, and one post says a lunch booking before the afternoon break can stretch to nearly two hours.
- 12 posts booked ahead, through CatchTable or Naver. One says Naver booking only covers hall tables, so they phoned for a room; another notes groups of five or more must take a room, and a third paid a 30,000-won deposit for the betrothal course, refunded after the meal. One writer wanted a room but found them all taken and settled for the hall.
- Family meals dominate with 12 posts, 8 of them betrothal meetings; 9 went as a larger party (7–8 person betrothal meetings, a team dinner, a company event) and 1 with a friend. Several chose it because parents were arriving by KTX from outside Seoul.

Getting inside
| In a basement | 10 of 19 posts |
|---|---|
| Lift to the floor | 2 of 19 posts |
It is on the third basement level, as 10 visit posts say; two went down by lift — one straight from the underground car park, one noting that older guests who struggle with stairs can manage easily. Finding it can be hard: one writer felt it was 'deep under the sea', another came in a back entrance, couldn't find it underground and arrived 20 minutes late. Two secondhand write-ups say '3rd floor'; that is wrong and we did not count it.
Nobody says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair gets in; two posts only mention taking the lift down to B3. That means no one wrote about it, not that access is lacking.
No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separate for men and women.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 24 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2026-07-30 | 2 posts in one day |

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions split on seasoning: 3 posts found it mild, 2 found it salty — one on the octopus pasta, one who says she prefers bland food while her family was happy. Three posts found things sweet (the marinated seafood, the mushroom gangjeong, dessert).
- 6 posts found the staff friendly. One December 2025 post, written soon after opening, describes a booking that wasn't passed on, a swapped dish and missing rice bowls, and says the writer won't return; no later post repeats this.
- No post describes queueing — almost everyone booked. One says the hall was nearly full on a weekday lunch; a secondhand write-up's 'you may wait without a booking' we did not count. We don't know what a walk-in wait looks like.
- Opening hours appear in 9 visit posts: 8 say 11:00–21:00 daily, one says 21:30 (from the sign at the door). All 9 agree on a 15:00–17:00 break; 2 give last orders at 14:00 and 20:00. Most are copied from listing info. No one mentions a closing day.
- Prices depend on when you go: the same set costs more in the evening and at weekends than at weekday lunch — the short-rib set shows 38,000 won on one menu photo and 43,000 won in three evening or weekend visits. No post calls it expensive; 3 call it good value.
- Several posts give the same phone number, 02-6411-6450. Most booked via CatchTable or Naver, but one notes Naver only takes hall-table bookings, so phone for a room.
- We did not count 5 write-ups: one article posted twice by the same author (which puts the restaurant on the 3rd floor), two that repackage platform listing data, and one list of Seoul Station set-meal restaurants.
