POCHA

낙원포차 종로본점 Nagwon Pocha Jongno Bonjeom Nagwon is the neighbourhood, Nagwon-dong (literally 'paradise garden'), and pocha is short for pojangmacha, the Korean tent bar; one blogger noted the sign only says POCHA and guessed the name comes from the dong.

Compiled from 20 blog posts read in fullSources →

An indoor pocha right outside Exit 4 of Jongno 3-ga Station, on Donhwamun-ro 11-gil. The sign just says POCHA; bloggers call it Nagwon Pocha Jongno Bonjeom. Under retro tarpaulins and bamboo blinds people drink draught beer (5,500 won) over udon (10,000 won), garlic fried chicken (23,000 won) and pan-fried spicy octopus (34,000 won), and in the evening tables spill out onto the street. We read 30 posts dated 24 May 2025 to 22 September 2026; 21 are about this place and 20 describe an actual visit (August 2025 to September 2026).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. In the evening the place spills onto the street. Ten posts mention the outdoor tables; one described red tables and chairs being rolled out in front. One visitor arriving around 4:30 on a weekday found nothing set up yet until later, another arriving at 6:30 on a weekday found the outdoor tables already full and sat inside. Two posts retreated indoors to the air-conditioning on hot days.
  2. A free bowl of puffed snacks arrives when you sit down. Nine posts mention it, variously calling it puffed rice, popped corn or old-fashioned crackers; one got a refill.
  3. Eleven posts say the portions are large. One wrote that however much they stirred the octopus pan, all they could find was octopus; others singled out the omelette, the seafood ramyeon and the scallion chicken.
  4. Eleven posts describe the walk from the station from experience: it is right in front of you as you come up Exit 4, or just behind you if you turn around.
3 more
  1. There is a big screen in the hall. Six posts mention it, two saying it was playing idol music videos. One post noticed baskets under the tables for bags.
  2. It is not a quiet place: four posts call it noisy and one says it is not overly loud. One moved from a cramped, noisy window table to the inner room, which another post found calmer; the inner tables take orders by QR code, one post said.
  3. Five posts went as a couple and four with friends, most of them on a weekday evening after work.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 20 posts read)
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 3 (of 20 posts read)
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 2 (of 20 posts read)

Only one post mentions the floor, saying the bar spreads out across the ground floor; none mentions a basement or upstairs seating.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. Posts mention an open frontage and folding doors in summer, but nobody wrote about a step. That means nobody said, not that there isn't one.

The toilets are not inside the bar, according to three posts. One describes a shared unisex toilet in the next building that was cramped and had no working lock, so she had to ask someone for help. Another found the unisex toilet in the arcade inconvenient and preferred the public toilet out front; a third says it is down the hallway.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 21 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post describes waiting in line. One warns that there may be a wait, but not from experience; several found it nearly full early in the evening. That is not proof there's never a line, only that no one wrote about queuing.
  • Sixteen visit posts give opening hours; fifteen agree on 16:00 to 03:00, mostly every day, and one alone says 10:00 to 22:00 with last orders at 21:00. All of these come from copied info blocks, and no post mentions a closing day.
  • Some prices have crept up. Cheese chicken feet were 24,000 won in posts from November 2025 and May 2026 and 25,000 won by September 2026; the tripe tteokbokki went from 24,000 won in May to 26,000 won in September 2026. Tempura udon appears at both 12,000 and 10,000 won. Four posts call it good value.
  • Fourteen posts give the phone number 0507-1479-9085. Bookings, group rooms and pets being allowed appear only in copied info blocks; no one wrote about actually booking ahead.
  • Of the 20 visit posts, two disclose sponsorship, three were review-programme or meal-voucher visits, one says the blogger paid, and fourteen say nothing. Nearly all follow the same template: info block, POCHA sign, retro interior, menu, order. One blogger was asked to write a Naver review as soon as she sat down, and two mention free mini fries for a receipt review.
