MOHEJI

모헤지 Moheji Moheji is the Korean spelling of もへじ, the Tsukishima (Tokyo) monjayaki brand whose first Korean branch this is.

Compiled from 21 blog posts read in fullSources →

Moheji is a monjayaki griddle house in a Nagwon-dong alley right by Jongno 3-ga station (42 Donhwamun-ro 11-gil). Several posts repeat that it is the first Korean branch of a Tsukishima, Tokyo monja brand, opened in August 2026. Every table has a griddle, and staff make the monja in front of you, chopping cabbage and pouring in broth. The signature cod roe and mochi monja costs 22,000 won; 16 of the 21 visit posts ordered it, and 14 added cheese. Monja run from 18,000 to 29,000 won, and two posts say a meal for two went past 100,000 and 110,000 won. Both floors are in use now, but from late August to mid-September only the ground floor was open. We read 30 posts dated 31 August to 9 October 2026: 21 describe a visit, 8 only repeat TV or listing information, and 1 is about another restaurant.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Waiting is the thing people write about most. Fifteen of the 21 visit posts waited. Weekend records: 223 groups ahead at 2:30 pm on a Sunday, about five hours; registered 1:33 pm on a Saturday, seated 7:05 pm; registered 2:59 pm on a Saturday, seated 6:18 pm; ticket number 401 at about 3 pm, dinner at 8 pm. Weekdays are not always easy either: 88 groups at 7 pm meant 2 hours 40 minutes, and a Friday 1:27 pm registration took 2 hours 23 minutes. Three posts walked straight in, all on weekdays during the day: zero groups at 12:30, none at lunch, and straight in at 5 pm. Five posts mention waiting chairs out front; one found them all taken.
  2. Eighteen visit posts describe staff making the monja at the table: chopping and frying the fillings, building a ring, pouring the broth in the middle, and finishing it. Several note that most staff are Japanese and greet you with 'irasshaimase'. Okonomiyaki, yakisoba, tonpeiyaki and omelette rice come out cooked from the kitchen and sit on the griddle to stay warm. Three posts mention staff spraying fabric freshener on their clothes as they left.
  3. Salt is the most common complaint. Nine posts found it salty, one said it was better than expected, and three only said it gets saltier the longer you cook it or press it down. Several posts explain that the batter reduces on the griddle and suggest asking for only half the seaweed powder.
  4. Five posts say in their own words that it is right by the station, at exit 5; others name exit 4.
2 more
  1. Of the posts that say who they came with, six came as a couple and four with friends. One suggests a monja plus one side is right for two, since a monja serves about one and a half; three found the portions small.
  2. Several posts say staff explained that, Japanese-style, you order drinks first; two describe it as one drink per person. Some ordered cola instead of alcohol.

Parking

Posts saying you cannot2 of 21 posts

Most 'no parking' lines come from copied listing blocks. Two visitors say there was no parking support and they used the Orakai hotel garage next door. Three posts drove; one parked at a nearby public lot for a little over two hours and paid about 12,000 won.

Getting inside

The seating changed over time. Posts from late August to mid-September say only the ground floor was open. Late-September posts say the upper floor opened in the late afternoon or was still being prepared, and October posts were seated upstairs. Twelve posts in all mention the second floor. Seven call the place spacious and two call it small, and both of those were written in September, when only the ground floor was open.

No one says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means we don't know, not that there is no access. Three posts ate on the ground floor. Two say the toilets are upstairs and one says there is one on each floor. Nobody mentions stairs or a lift to the second floor.

Three posts say the toilets are inside. One counts two women's and one men's, all single-occupancy and clean.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 8 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-082 posts in one day
2026-10-033 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The queueing system changed too. A late-August post says remote queueing was not available, and one mid-September post still says on-site only. Other posts from the same weeks booked a remote place on CatchTable at 11 am, and by October everyone assumes it. Several posts say on-site registration starts at 9 am. One post says there are no reservations, only the waiting list.
  • Prices match across posts for nearly every dish, except the cheese topping: five posts give 5,000 won and one (a September visit) gives 2,000 won. Three posts call the place expensive. Five more were unsure, either finding the price fair once they saw the portion or complaining only about the cola.
  • Opening hours differ from one copied block to the next. All agree on an 11 am opening, but not on which nights it closes at 2 am and which at 5 am. Up to September, six visit posts put the 5 am close on Friday and Saturday, and two say 2 am every day. October posts say Thursday to Saturday (five), Friday and Saturday (two), Thursday to Sunday (two), or Saturday only (one). Thursday hours seem to have been extended, but we can't be sure. Last order is an hour before closing, and one post says there is no day off.
  • No post gives a phone number. One says there is none and to check Instagram, another says none is published. Instead of reservations there is only the CatchTable waiting list.
  • Seven write-ups that followed the TV show Delicious Guys (episode 583, 2 October 2026) and one post by a POS installer were written without a visit, so we did not count them. Claims like a '155-year' tradition, '300-group' queues and the 7 August 2026 opening date are repeated from these sources.
