Gosire

고시레 Gosire is the folk call Koreans make when tossing the first bite of food aside as an offering to the spirits before eating outdoors.

Compiled from 6 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Korean barbecue house on Myeongdong 9-gil, between Euljiro 1-ga station and Myeongdong. At lunch the kimchi stew comes with a stone-pot rice; in the evening people grill marinated pork ribs over charcoal. The stew was 10,000 won on a September 2025 receipt and 11,000 won in two 2026 posts; pork ribs were 20,000 won a serving. We read 8 posts from November 2024 to August 2026: one was about another restaurant and one only introduced the place, leaving 6 actual visits. Five of those visits ordered the kimchi stew.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Three posts noticed many foreign diners: two put it at roughly half the room, alongside local office workers, and a third saw foreign guests coming in steadily.
  2. Three posts said the place is roomy: one found the hall bigger than expected, one called it clean with plenty of seats, and one said the basement floor offers enough seating for group dinners.
  3. The lunch stew comes with stone-pot rice, but with the barbecue a bowl of rice is a separate 2,000 won — one November 2024 post said it was about the size of a small instant-rice tub.

Getting inside

In a basement1 of 6 posts

The floor is unclear: the registered address says basement level 1 while blog check-ins say ground floor. One post mentioned a roomy basement seating area, but nobody said which level the entrance is on or whether there are stairs.

We don't know whether there's a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — nobody wrote about it.

No one mentioned the restroom — whether it's inside or split by gender is unknown.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 7 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Whether staff grill the meat depends on when people went. A November 2024 post said staff did all the grilling; an August 2026 post said the owner only laid the meat on and they grilled it themselves, being told there was only one staff member. We can't tell whether this changed or was just that day.
  • Speed is split one to one: an April 2025 post was surprised how fast food arrived, while an August 2026 post, the first customers at 11 a.m., struggled to get an order taken and waited about 20 minutes for food and charcoal.
  • Prices have gone up: the kimchi stew was 10,000 won on a September 2025 receipt and 11,000 won in posts from April and August 2026. Two posts called the prices reasonable; one said it didn't feel cheap.
  • No post reported actually queuing. One mentioned lines can get long with tourists and an introductory post said it fills up around noon, but nobody recorded a wait of their own.
  • Company doesn't cluster: one post went with a friend, one with a spouse, one with a group of coworkers.
  • Three posts list the same hours, 11:00–23:55 daily with last order at 22:55, but all copied them from the listing. The only first-hand time is an August 2026 visit that arrived at the 11 a.m. opening. No one mentioned closing days.
  • Two posts copied the phone number 010-6666-5734. Whether you can book by phone, nobody said.
  • Only one post described getting there: about three minutes' walk from Euljiro 1-ga station. No one gave the exit or the route.
