CONGDU MYEONGDONG
콩두 명동 Kongdu Myeongdong Kong is the Korean word for bean; Myeongdong names the district, marking this as the Myeongdong house of the Congdu restaurants (a sibling, Congdu 50, sits in Yeouido).

Congdu Myeongdong is a Korean course restaurant on the 6th floor of the Hotel28 building in Myeongdong, beside the hotel reception, run under chef Park Hyo-nam of Culinary Class Wars 2. Lunch starts at 49,000 won (some mains cost extra), dinner is 99,000 or 129,000 won, and there is a Sunday brunch. Mains like the beef rib arrive on a small brazier with white rice and three side dishes, and you brush on a 15-year aged soy sauce. Most posts were birthday dinners with parents, engagement meetings, anniversaries, or office outings. We read 29 posts from 4 May to 5 October 2026: 25 from people who ate there, 2 that only described it, and 2 about other places (Congdu 50 in Yeouido and a nearby cafe), which we set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Ten posts went with family: parents' birthdays, Parents' Day, engagement meetings. Two were large office groups, three were couples on anniversaries, one was friends. Several posts say that flagging a birthday or anniversary when booking brought a glass of wine or omija drink and a lettered dessert plate, and one used a 50% August-birthday coupon.
- Seven posts sat in a private room, but several stress these are partitioned rather than closed rooms: one heard the hall over an open ceiling, another described partitions with some openness. Two found it quiet; one engagement party said soundproofing was poor because of a loud group next door. One room had a TV.
- Eleven posts booked ahead via CatchTable or Naver. An August dinner post said booking was easy, and a February visitor booking a month out found plenty of open slots. One Sunday-brunch post booked one to two months ahead.
- Nine posts called the price reasonable and four called it expensive. Of the nine, seven ate the 49,000-won lunch, one the Sunday brunch, and one a dinner at 50% off for a birthday; three of the four who found it expensive had the 129,000-won dinner. One engagement party of six paid 834,000 won including drinks.

- Six posts walked from the subway and say Euljiro 1-ga station is closer than Myeongdong; one gives three minutes from exit 5, another used exit 6.

Parking
3 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

All three posts that drove had to park elsewhere, at a nearby Fastfive lot or at Lotte Department Store with a three-hour validation. One copied info block says parking is available, but other copied blocks and all three drivers say the building has none.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Five posts took the elevator to the 6th floor. Finding the street entrance is a recurring complaint: one wandered back and forth, one came in by a back door, one gave directions to a dark door left of the Cream Chic cafe. A February visitor waited because a single elevator also serves hotel guests; a May post thought there were several.
None of the 25 visit posts mentions a step, ramp, wheelchair, or stroller. Wheelchair access appears only in one copied info block, which we did not count. That means nobody wrote about it, not that it is absent.
Only one post says where the toilet is: the hotel restroom outside the restaurant, to the right. Three others describe its tiles, lighting, or cleanliness but not its location.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post describes queueing, likely because nearly everyone booked. One early arrival waited on a sofa in the waiting area; another was let in about a minute before the break ended.
- Twelve visit posts list opening hours, all copied from listings. Eleven say 07:00–21:30 and one 21:00, with breaks mostly 10:00–11:30 and 14:30–18:00. Seven say Sunday closes at 14:30 with no dinner; one says closed Mondays. Last order is given as 20:00 in three posts and 20:30 in two.
- Lunch stayed at 49,000 won from a February visit to October, and dinner at 99,000 and 129,000 won from June to September. One May post lists mains at +10,000 (black cod, black tofu) and +20,000 (sirloin, bouillabaisse); another May post puts the seafood stew at +10,000, so that surcharge is uncertain.
- Three posts give the phone number 0507-1385-7016; two others give different numbers (02-3789-2010, 02-722-7002). Most people booked through CatchTable or Naver.
- Two bloggers wrote up the same visit twice (a mother's birthday; a July 31 anniversary). We counted per post, so the ten family posts are nine visits and the three couple posts are two.
- The registered address says 5th floor, but every post says Hotel28, 6th floor. One post claims the steak gets its final grilling at the table; others say it arrives fully cooked on the brazier, so we did not count that claim.
