정온 A ground-floor cocktail bar in Munjeong-dong, Seoul, whose name means steady temperature
Compiled from 6 blog posts read in fullSources →
Jeongon — the name means "steady temperature" — is a cocktail bar five minutes on foot from exit 4 at Munjeong, on the ground floor of an office tower on Songpa-daero. It opened in September 2023, started by Bae Se-min, who had worked at Zest, Charm and Jusindang. Seven in the evening until two in the morning, closed Sundays. Every cocktail costs the same, signatures sit beside classics, and there is a separate list for whisky and spirits. The drinks it is known for take something familiar — popcorn, castella sponge — and pour it; the fondant au chocolat and the short food menu are made in house. The neighbourhood is offices and flats, so quiet at weekends that, as the owner puts it, even the convenience store in the same building shuts. The posts we read run from October 2024 to July 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart
- The bar counter is the point of the room, but it is not the only seat. Writers who counted found a long counter, one table for four, and a couple of small two-tops. Those small tables do not get good notices: one writer looked at them, decided they were too cramped, and sat at the counter instead. Sitting there is the whole idea — one guest described the flavour she wanted and got a drink that was not on the card.
- Something to eat comes with the glass. An olive with the highball; olives and mixed nuts in a glass bowl otherwise. What is left over from making a drink can come back as another: order the Deungbanga, built on makgeolli and peanut, and the peanut pulp returns as a cookie. Two writers mention the hot towel handed over on sitting down — one read it, correctly, as the sign of a bar working in the Japanese classic manner.
- This is not a basement bar. It sits on the ground floor of an office building with one wall of glass — "most bars are underground," one writer notes, "and this one has height and air." The owner says in an interview that being above ground was non-negotiable, and that the season changing outside the window is the room's decoration. Wood and sand tones under warm light: several writers describe the same room.

Getting inside
| Second floor | yes 0 · no 1 (of 6 posts read) |

Nobody looked at the doorway. In six posts the words for step, threshold and ramp never appear once, and no one says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair can get in. That is not a no — it is that no one looked. What is certain is only the floor: ground level, neither basement nor upstairs. One writer remarks that most bars around here are underground and this one is not, and the owner says in an interview that being above ground was the one thing he would not give up.
Not one line about the lavatory. Whether it is inside the bar or out in the building's corridor, whether it is shared or separate — nobody says. For a place that pours until two in the morning that is worth knowing, and six writers all wrote about the glass and the room instead.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 7 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The line about the subway is copied too. Three posts give "five minutes on foot from exit 4 at Munjeong, line 8," all three inside the same block as the address and the phone number, and none of them describes actually making that walk. The lines people did write themselves pull the other way: one had given up on coming for months because the location felt awkward, another kept putting it off because she never has reason to be in Munjeong. The bar shuts at two in the morning and no post mentions the last train.
- Nobody reports waiting. No one queued, no one was turned away for lack of a seat, and no one says they had booked. That does not mean there is always room: two writers note how few seats there are, and two describe a room that looked full of regulars. Six posts cannot tell you when it is busy.
- Fewer than half the posts say who came along. Two make it clear there was company: one tastes a sip of what her companion ordered, another is startled by a drink alongside the person next to her. Nobody writes about coming alone. Two do say the place is easy to drink at by yourself, but that is a remark about the counter, not a record of a solo visit. No one brings children, and no one comes with family — this is a bar that only opens at night.
- No post declares a sponsorship, and one states plainly that the writer paid. One visit, though, falls inside a two-week promotion the liqueur brand Disaronno ran at bars across the country; that post carries the brand's own list of participating bars and the legally required drinking warning. There is no disclosure, but it is worth knowing what you are reading. A drinks magazine also published an interview with the owner — we did not count it as a visit, because it records nothing drunk and no price — and the bar's history and the recipes above come from it.
- Whether you need to book is unknown. One post gives the method — Instagram message or a phone call. But no post describes waiting, being turned away, or having booked. Two writers note that there are not many seats, so there is presumably a busy hour; six posts are not enough to find it.
- Only two posts give a price. Both put a cocktail at ₩22,000, and one says every cocktail costs the same. One post prices the dessert and the stew. The whisky, spirits and champagne are described as having their own list, and nobody writes down what is on it. The owner has said that when the price of a glass came up online it drew a great deal of abuse — this is a neighbourhood where bars are still new.
