Arisan
아리산 A long-menu Chinese restaurant with private rooms and its own car park, in a side lane off exit 8 at Garak Market station; Arisan is the Korean reading of Alishan, the mountain in Taiwan.

Data as of · Published ·
Arisan is a Chinese restaurant on the ground floor of the Taerim building, across from the Olympic Family Town flats and within walking distance of exit 8 at Garak Market station. The sign calls it a 'Qing cuisine specialist'; from the street it is a black front under a large board. Inside there is no red — grey and black, a chandelier over a wide dining room, and separate private rooms. The menu is long: close to thirty noodle and rice dishes, and as many again of the shared plates — sweet-and-sour pork, jellyfish salad, eight-treasure seafood, braised shreds. Ten in the morning to nine at night, every day, no closing day. There is parking in front. The posts we read run from January 2025 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The private rooms are what this place is for. Several writers mention them, each for a different reason — one who brings clients says rooms are hard to find near Garak Market and this place is built around them; one who came alone notes that the rooms make it work for a business lunch without making it awkward to eat by yourself. Another saw people drinking at midday in the back room. Nobody says how many rooms there are, how many they hold, or whether they cost extra.
- The words that come up more often than 'delicious' are 'clean' and 'not aggressive' — and writers split on whether that is a compliment. One makes the case for it: plenty of places crank the wok smoke, the chilli oil, the salt and the meat, and those are good too, but you cannot eat them every week; this sits in between, and that is its strength. Another says flatly that the food is not going to astonish anyone, and goes for the rooms, the parking and the service. Two writers, independently, notice how many of the solo lunch customers are elderly, and both connect it to the light hand with salt.
- What is fried comes straight from the fryer. Two writers say so of the tangsuyuk — still steaming, still crisp — and one poured the sauce over it and found the batter held. And yet two writers also say the food comes fast: one got through lunch and a coffee inside a lunch break; another notes three free side dishes and quick service in the same breath. One post argues that in a market district this is the whole game.
- Three things come free with the meal — pickled radish, pickled mustard stem, and cabbage in vinegar. One writer adds black bean paste and raw onion; one was given white kimchi. Two writers single out the mustard stem: not just salty the way it usually is, but with some heat and savour behind it. One, on a cold day, was brought a pot of hot tea and drank the whole of it — the only mention of tea we have, so we cannot say it always comes.

Parking
6 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

You park in front. In this part of town that is reason enough — 'easy and free', 'being able to pull up at the door helped me choose'. One writer counts the spaces and gets about six; another describes a wide private car park with an attendant. The two do not agree, and the second says in the same paragraph that the restaurant is open twenty-four hours, which it is not.

Getting there

Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.
Getting inside
Nobody says whether you can get in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. Across all twenty-seven posts the words for wheelchair, pushchair, threshold, ramp and step never appear. We know it is on the ground floor and that you can park at the door. Whether there is a step at that door, we do not know.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 25 posts we gathered, 15 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The first thing to say about this place is not how many posts there are but where they came from. Of the thirty we collected, fourteen went up in six days, between 20 and 25 January 2025. Exactly one of them says it is a paid advertisement, and the other thirteen share its sentences. One phrase, with the same grammatical slip in it, appears in seven of them; another in eight; a third in six. The last paragraph of the declared advertisement is the owner's own greeting, lifted from the Naver listing. We kept three of the fourteen and dropped eleven — the three that give a price, or directions from the station, or name what the writer actually ordered. One of the eleven puts the restaurant at the wrong station altogether. Add three posts that are nothing but a scraped copy of the Naver listing, and one delivery order, and thirty posts became twelve.
- One account cuts against the rest. Four of the twelve say the food is not greasy or heavy. One writer, on the jjajangmyeon, says the first mouthful smelled of frying oil and put him off. He adds that he got used to it and ate happily enough, and that he would come back. It is one person's first mouthful, in June 2025.
- Nobody reports queueing. Several do report a full room at lunch — every table taken on the stroke of noon; busy but not queueing; a crowded weekday evening with seats still to be had. The size of the place seems to be what keeps the queue from forming. No one gives a waiting time, and no one says they booked.
- No one has written about the lavatories. Two posts mention separate men's and women's, but both of those lines are lifted whole from the Naver listing — they arrive in one string with 'groups welcome, booking, takeaway, delivery, parking'. Where it is, whether it is inside the restaurant or out in the building, how many stalls: nobody says. That is not 'there is none'; it is 'nobody wrote it down'.
- Ground floor — it is in the address, and no post mentions a stair or a lift. But it is not on the main road and people do miss it: out of exit 8, past the fried-chicken shop, into the side lane, opposite the Family Town flats. Two writers describe that turn independently.
- The telephone number is 02-404-5700, the same in five separate posts. Thirteen posts give the hours as 10am to 9pm; two disagree — one says half past nine, one says twenty-four hours, every day. We did not trust the second: its parking paragraph contradicts every other account. One post says there is no closing day. Nobody mentions a mid-afternoon break or a last order.
