Yeongil Bunsik

영일분식 Bunsik means a casual Korean snack-and-noodle eatery; the posts give no meaning for Yeongil, the house's own name.

Yeongil Bunsik is a floor-seated noodle house tucked into the metalworking alleys of Mullae-dong 4-ga, Yeongdeungpo (34-1 Dorim-ro 141ga-gil). It serves kal-bibimguksu — thick hand-cut noodles tossed in a sweet-sour chili sauce — alongside clam kalguksu and big pork dumplings. Posts from September–October 2026 put every noodle dish at 10,000 won (1,000 won more for a large), dumplings at 7,000 won for five or 4,000 won for three, and dumpling soup at 8,000 won. You take off your shoes, sit on the floor, and help yourself to kimchi from a tub on each table. We read 30 posts dated 15 September to 19 October 2026; 17 record an actual meal. Seven were previews of the tvN STORY show that featured the place on 19 October and were not counted, and one was about the restaurant next door.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect a line at lunch and on weekends. Eight posts say they waited; the five that give a time say 5–10, 10, 10, 15 and 20 minutes — 10 minutes on a Tuesday at 11:50, 20 minutes on a Saturday around 3 p.m. Two posts note there is no sign-up sheet or ticket: you simply queue outside the door. Two posts walked straight in, one of them at 2 p.m. on a Saturday, and a regular says arriving at 12:45, after the peak, got her seated right away.
  2. All seating is on the floor. Eight posts say so and three mention removing shoes — two say into a shoe cabinet, one says there was no cabinet and shoes were left outside. One found the heated floor cozy; another warned it gets uncomfortable if you sit long, and one noted tight spacing between tables softened by partition screens.
  3. Portions are large — nine posts say so. One estimated a regular serving at 1.4 portions and a large at 1.8; another says staff warned the large was more than expected; a third couple left food despite trying. One post felt it was even bigger as takeout a few years ago.
  4. The kitchen is right inside the entrance — four posts describe walking past noodles being boiled, one mentioning several large pots on the left. Two say food comes quickly (five minutes after ordering). One post got noodles in two minutes but waited 15 for dumplings, suspecting the order had been missed.

  1. One post says paying cash takes 1,000 won off and that split bills aren't accepted at busy lunchtimes; the same post noted a posted country-of-origin sign.

Posts saying you cannot4 of 16 posts

There is no parking at the restaurant. Four posts say so and point to nearby public lots such as Mullae Neighborhood Park. One couple who drove parked at Homeplus Yeongdeungpo by Mullae Station and shopped there to cover the fee.

Getting inside

No post says which floor the restaurant is on or whether there are steps; the '1st floor' in the registered address isn't something anyone reported seeing.

No one mentioned a threshold or wheelchair and stroller access — that means unknown, not absent. All we know is that you remove shoes and sit on the floor.

No post says whether there is a restroom inside or whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 12 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-193 posts in one day
2026-10-172 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours appear to have changed. One post read the sign on the door, one wrote that it used to open at 10 but now opens at 9, and a 16 September post agrees: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The 10 a.m. opening seen in many October posts is copied from Naver listings, so we don't treat it as current. All ten posts that list hours agree it closes Mondays; last order is 7:20 p.m.
  • Prices are as of September–October 2026. One regular wrote that it used to be cheaper and has gone up a lot; another noted that extra noodles, once given freely on request, now cost 1,000 won. No post says when or from what. Two posts put a meal for two — two noodle bowls and a half plate of dumplings — at 24,000 won.
  • Only one post actually reported the walk — about 10 minutes from Mullae Station. The 'Exit 1, about 10 minutes' line elsewhere is copied info; posts warn the place is deep in the workshop alleys and easy to doubt you're on the right street. No one described arriving by bus.
  • No post says whether reservations are taken. Many list the phone number, 02-2636-9817, but nobody reported calling to book or ask.
  • Seven posts from 13–19 October are previews of the tvN STORY episode. Two share identical wording and structure and claim a visit without describing any meal. We did not count their seating, parking or hours details, which are copied.
