Jjukkumi Dosa Omokgyo-jeom

쭈꾸미도사 오목교점 Jjukkumi is the small webfoot octopus the shop griddles in chilli sauce; a dosa is a Taoist adept, so the sign promises an octopus sage. Omokgyo is the subway station it stands beside.

Korean · Yangcheon-gu, Mok-dong

Data as of · Published ·

A griddle-octopus house on the ground floor of the eating lane three to five minutes' walk from exit 1 at Omokgyo station. Several writers note it belongs to a chain that began in the octopus alley in Cheonho, across the city. There is really one dish — small octopus in chilli sauce — and the choice is what goes on top of it: beef intestine, pork jowl, brisket, pork belly with water dropwort, or prawns. Closed Mondays, and on Tuesdays it does not open until half past four. The posts we read run from 28 June to 24 September 2026.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. The staff cook it for you, start to finish. This is the most-repeated thing anyone says about the place. The pan goes down with an egg timer beside it; when the sand runs out someone comes to turn everything, add the noodles, judge when it is done, and at the end fry the rice. "Not self-service." "No worrying whether it is cooked." "You just sit and talk." One writer was glad to hand over the beef intestine in particular, which is easy to get wrong.
  2. People disagree about the size. Most call it roomy — group tables, space between them, a good place for a work dinner — but two say the opposite: one ate "squeezed in, shoulder to shoulder", another allows it is "not large, but comfortable". The two writers who counted tables got seven or eight, and eight. Those who call it roomy are mostly thinking about fitting a party in, which is not the same as having room between the tables.
  3. You pick the heat when you order, and each step is named after a brand of instant noodle: mild is Shin, medium is Yeol, hot is Buldak, very hot is past that. How many steps there are depends on who you ask — three posts say four, one says five, one says three. So the counts on this page come from people eating at different settings. In one post the writer finds the medium barely hot while the friend across the table says it is.
  4. The shop itself will tell you when not to queue. Three writers asked and were told the same thing: weekday afternoons between half four and six are the quietest (one was told four). Three warn that weekends and the evening rush can mean waiting; none of them actually waited, and one walked straight in at nine on a Saturday night. Another arrived just as the afternoon break ended and had the window table to herself.
  5. Buy it raw and two portions' money gets you three (₩32,000). Three writers saw the offer on the pavement board and three promise themselves they will use it next time, but not one of the thirty we read actually did. One noticed a steady stream of people collecting takeaway while she ate; two mention the delivery-order chime never stopping. Several say the shop is on both of the big delivery apps.
  6. The drinks fridge is the most-photographed object in this shop — fifteen posts mention it. One counted two fridges, one admired the bottles lined up ruler-straight, one counted more than ten kinds, one spotted tonic water. Highballs are ₩6,000 on the board. Few actually drank, though: two had rice beer, two had soju and beer, and the rest say they came at lunch and did not. The phrase "daytime drinking" appears in dozens of hashtags; exactly one writer describes doing it.

Parking

7 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park7 of 30 posts

There are one or two spaces in front, and no two people counted the same number — one, one, two, two, three. Two say the lane leaves no room to manoeuvre; one says they are usually taken by evening. Everyone who drove parked elsewhere: the Mokdong public lot (one writer paid ₩500 for an hour), the public lot by the Hyundai department store, or the E-Mart car park, where one writer reports an hour free for ₩10,000 spent and three hours for ₩30,000. The restaurant does not validate parking.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1

Not one line about a step, a ramp, a wheelchair or a pushchair. The address is a ground floor and two writers describe folding doors that open the front onto the lane, so the threshold may well be low — but nobody looked. It sits inside an eating alley, and we do not know what the approach is like either. This is not "there is no step": it is that nobody wrote it down.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • One post out of thirty mentions the lavatory. That writer says it is the building's, not the shop's: you take a key with a soft toy on it from the counter. So there is none inside. Whether it is shared, what floor it is on, how far you walk — that post does not say, and the other twenty-nine do not mention it at all.
  • No post says anything about steps or a change of level. The address gives a ground floor; nobody writes about going up or down to get in.
  • On Tuesdays it opens at half past four. It is closed Mondays and opens late only on Tuesdays, but our hours table has no column to split the days, so "11:30–23:00" and "16:30–23:00" sit side by side. Turn up for Tuesday lunch on the strength of that table and you will find it shut. Twelve posts give the Tuesday time; two disagree — one puts it at four, one extends the late opening across Tuesday to Friday.
  • All thirty posts were written inside three months, between 28 June and 24 September 2026. Our window is two years wide and caught nothing earlier. On top of that, twenty of them name the same new dish and one person ate it, and several copy the same four television credits in the same order (Channel A in 2018, SBS in 2019 and 2021, MBC in 2020). This looks like a summer publicity push. So the numbers here describe this shop in the summer of 2026, not this shop over two years. What it is like in winter, or how long it has been open, is not something we can tell you.
  • Four posts declare a sponsorship — a #sponsored tag in the body, a bracketed "[sponsored]", a line saying the post was written with support from the business. One declares paying its own way. The other twenty-five say nothing about money, and three of those, while carrying no disclosure, read like commissioned copy: the television credits, the influencer names, the new-dish plug, all in place. All three name what they ordered and what it cost, so none was dropped from the count. Separately, one writer was given a not-yet-launched cream pasta by the owner to taste, and five got cheese or a side free off the receipt-review roulette — which any customer can spin, and is not the same thing.
  • Nobody wrote down what a drink costs. The fridge appears in fifteen posts, but neither of the two who ordered rice beer nor the two who drank soju and beer gives a price. The only drink prices anyone copied off the board are two highballs at ₩6,000. What an evening here comes to per head with drinks is something we cannot work out from what we read.
  • It is a chain. Three writers trace it to the octopus alley in Cheonho, and two mention the chain by way of reassurance. But nothing we read compares it with another branch, so we cannot tell which of these things belong to this shop and which come down from head office — the heat scale, the egg timer, the spinach-topped beef pancake and the two-for-three takeaway may all be brand-wide.
